Old 2000 ITV Had a Vibe. What Happened? 😭

Can anyone explain what it was about shows back then? Was it the colour palette? The cinematography? Surely they didn’t have much money back then, yet somehow the shows looked so much better. 😂

14 crores just being wasted on Green Screen Tulsi.

Tripti hasn’t changed her attire in 20 episodes, and her entry into their house looked so lame. Raunak and Samira look so bland compared to Manthan and Bhoomi. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something about the show just isn’t right.

Ekta delayed S2 because of the set, even though the sets themselves look so bland. The sets in KGGK, Kyunki and Kasautii had a completely different vibe. They felt immersive and actually added to the stories. More importantly, those shows had compelling storylines.

And why bring villains back if they’re not going to be written the way villains used to be? Ansh’s return could have lasted much longer, but his exit was so poorly executed. Even Tripti’s return feels underwhelming. Where are the sharp, memorable dialogues? She’s just standing there delivering the most basic lines.

Star Plus is honestly lacking in so many areas right now.

Is all the money going towards Tulsi? Is that why even Amar seems annoyed? 😭

Various reason why ITV sucks these days

1. 7 day telecast of soaps isn’t helping with creativity. Earlier, shows would air 4/5 days max with good scripts and cinematography. Care was taken on shooting locations despite the long hours. Now it’s all about quantity of episodes.

2. post Covid budget cuts for most shows as channels have diversified their earning through OTT platforms. It also means advertisers are paying major broadcasters less money than they used to pre Covid/OTT era which has made it difficult for channels to attract big stars which is a reason why so many TV stars of the past decade hardly do TV.

3. More channels and viewers no longer interested as much

Amar being upset about pay is understandable as his character was a driving factor in pulling viewers and integral to the story. Not sure how Ekta gave in Smriti demands over her extortionate pay at the expense of the rest of the cast.

whats the source of 16-18 cr spent on smriti?

i was thinking abt writing other day lol. dialogues used to hit hard. actors were better. acting was better. tracks were better. tracks can be batshit crazy bt no faults with actors and scenes

writing has suffered clearly. balaji went lazy with bhagyas, they are stuck in that loop where 30 days same party will continue and people will still watch. star shows are fast paced. especially after tulsi mihir united and rio entered show went to shit

actors are bland. apart from pari and some times ritik and vrinda no other new gen is rootable. na shakal na acting na aura. bhoomi was a newbie back then, she had her own place. bhoomi manthan eklavya mayank got their scenes to shine in that high voltage drama. here the new kids dont get that space cause they cant pull the audience. and casting directors dont care, insta se uthaya hai sasta actors. they got what they wanted

i want to know the thought process of the people who saw akashdeep with wig and tried to pass him off as same age of ritik parth vaishnavi etc. its not rocket science. they treat audience as stupid and so good to see trp fell 1.5. come on, who are you fooling? and it didnt help karan/hiten had his colors show and he was clean shavensmiley37 yeah his adopted son alright lol

the show is ongoing due to vibes and nostalgia. tripti the baddie as per internet bt she didnt have impact back then, she dont have impact now. like you said they didnt explore rio much. whats niyati doing in show?

spin off is another shit

After Covid everything gone down the drains! Not only 2000 shows after 2010s, shows like Pavitra Rishta, JODHA Akbar, Kumkum Bhagya 1, Naagin 1 & 3 had vibe along with their sets

It just that back in the days maker used to work sincerely, they used to put effort in finding good looki6avtors, used to coach them. Now either they are riding the nostalgia factor of the past glory or simply making regressive content in the name of "nayi soch". THey used to have weekly dramas, weekend special, sat-sun used to be different but now it's 24/7 anupama aur in whatever accent she speak type. This is not just SP but ITV in general. Star one used to have such cool shows bit then they shut it down & brought all melodrama except for mahadev. Sony/SAB used to have different concept. COLORS ruined it for them all by inserting regressive content in the name of social issue phir bhi at first they were okaish but then went downhill. The last ITV show that looked like a SP show was TERE LIYE.. Bidai..Rishta S1 to a certain extent I guess. Now we get star jalsha, zee Bangla remakes. Actors who can't act & doesn't look good, no good looking couple, no chemistry but social media to over hype these average.
