I get the skepticism, especially with the gangster angle, but I wouldn't call King a guaranteed flop before seeing what the actual film looks like. Fan edits and a few promo images can create a very different impression from the finished movie.

The bigger question for me is whether Anand S. can give the material enough edge and atmosphere without simply copying the style of films like Animal. SRK playing a darker character is interesting on its own, but the writing and direction will matter much more than how violent the promotional material looks. If they find the right balance, it could work; if it's just a standard action vehicle with a gangster skin, then I can understand the concern.
