I stopped watching PS1 when they started to drag, so I have no idea what happened before it ended. True, Kannan was completely pathetic, and Dhanam was annoying. But for me, Moorthy was better than Pandian, who just keeps screaming for everything. Gomathi is more entitled than Dhanam since she is the mother, not the SIL. Senthil is a fraud, whereas Jeeva was better. Meena was human in PS1, and here she is this divine being who can do nothing wrong and interferes in everything.
Kathir & Mullai/Raji are the best characters in both seasons. Palani was good too, but they moved him out of the house. Saravana was better at first, and Mayil is just worse. All other external characters are a combo of good and bad in both seasons.
For me, PS1 characters feel better than PS2. But yeah, you would have your own views and preferences about which season you like. Although I have missed a lot of episodes from both seasons, so there may be arcs/scenes that I don't even know about, which would affect my rating for both seasons.
