They may not necessarily know each other and it is shown that Sid and Samaira are in a relationship which is a secret. Saahil saw the two together and thought that they look cute and even approached Karan and asked him to consider Sid for Samaira stating that he is already friends with the boy’s father so he knows the family but Karan refused saying that they are permanently settled in the US and Karan doesn’t want his daughter to live so far away from him. He also said he has a guy in mind for her already though we are yet to meet him and know who he is.

With this as the backdrop if Diya likes Sid for some reason Saahil may consider him as a prospective groom for his own daughter until he probably finds out that Sid is Tripti’s stepson.

At this point unless Sid is two-timing and already cheating on both the sisters with each other, knowing they are related or otherwise, the Diya Sid angle will pop up because Karan refused the match and moreover because Samaira and Sid have kept their relationship a secret. It’s possible that even Nandini doesn’t know that Samaira has a boyfriend, Garu definitely doesn’t though she sees them together and thinks they have chemistry and are attracted to each other.
