There isn't a single former player defending his suicidal tactics last night after England went 1-0 up. At the very least, he should have admitted that the substitutions he made all backfired. Saying, This may have been our best performance, is only adding salt to English fans' wounds.

England's defence was nowhere near as solid as Spain's, and Argentina weren't playing like France either.

If NL could have won, it should have been with that team. All gems. Good atmosphere in the team. Good coach. It all made sense.

Sometimes the best team does not win. It is about points and goals. And luck too.

We had Robben, Van der Vaart, Snijders, Van Persie, Huntelaar (he did not play much but substituted so well) many many more gems like them.

This year... I have no clue what happened.. They choked.. Went for safe.. No clue..

France had that issue. Engeland also actually. Underperformed and lost.

It is not coming home.. Not yet..

Fun and crazy thing is also, sometimes you see things differently, depending who you support. Remember last Cup, Netherlands Argentina. Things got heated a bit. I disliked some things of Argentina way of playing, behaviour. Also from Messi. But those who are supporting for Argentina, they totally approved of it because of things being said prematch (which was taken out of context and I believe also translated badly).

But hey.. It didn't stop us all for loving the sport. We keep on watching and hoping again and again.

We love this unhealthy toxic roller coaster relationship smiley37

Yea I totally agree. Netherlands could have won WC with that team only. Now theres only Van Djik. I’ll keep faith to see them reaching the finals again.

The world cup fever is another level of madness. The wins, the losses, the arguments and our faith to see our favorite team win is what makes love the sport. We’ll come back in 4 years and argue again. We are so emotionally invested. We can’t help it.

FIFA is setting them up for it. Then Argentina's claim to fame can be back-to-back titles not just Messi.

I love it how you are emotionally invested and so caring for the players. These sport events, especially in football are fabulous and terrible at the same time. The highs and lows, all part of the game which we have to except. It is more difficult to accept poor results when you know the team has more potential.

I had written something, but system got stuck so trying to remember what all I had written before smiley36 but basically.. I guess I want to invite you to come sit next to me on your own pink cloud.. Life from here is just beautiful.. And from here I can clearly see that those who are giving others a shitty time must have a shitty attitude and have a very low EQ intelligence level..

Have rest, and see you all the 18th for the next match.

Now.. I need to rush like a mad woman.. I am running late.. (at least I have my priorities straight by messaging you) smiley36

You're absolutely right smiley27 words of wisdom smiley27

Yes life is beautiful no matter what.

2 matches left we will make the most of itsmiley31

England's defence was nowhere near as solid as Spain's, and Argentina weren't playing like France either.

He was so quick to criticize his team after their match with Norway, saying they weren’t playing well enough, and everyone was praising him for being “honest” and holding his players accountable. I actually found that strange because they won the game. If he thought they weren’t good enough, he could’ve said that behind closed doors.

Now that he’s the one who made the mistake, suddenly he’s saying his team played their best football of the tournament. If he was really as honest as people claimed he would’ve admitted he got it wrong instead of trying to shift the blame.

That’s what makes his earlier comments about his own team feel so unnecessary. I honestly don’t understand why England wants to keep him. A good coach should be able to hold himself accountable just as much as he holds his players accountable. If you can dish out blame but can’t take it yourself, that’s not the sign of a good leader. I think England would be making a mistake by keeping him.
