Alpha was conceived in 2023, when it was a hot property. At that point, the situation was very different. Jigra hadn't released yet, and the backlash from her Hollywood appearance wasn't even part of the conversation. Decisions were made based on the perception of that time, not with the benefit of hindsight.

It's easy to question YRF's choices today, but when Alpha was greenlit in 2023, there wasn't nearly as much skepticism surrounding the project or Alia's casting as there is now.

Sorry, didn't remember that it had been already in 2023 that the project with Alia got conceived/announced... ... Yes, it was in July 2023, after the success of Pathaan, that Aditya talked about and already named Alia and Sharvari... so it may have been a genuine good idea from YRF side...

Well, anyways I'll watch the movie, hopefully in theatre this weekend.
