Action movies need an initial

Even dharundar opened at 25cr..

single digits opening for high octane action movies don't take them anywhere..these are facts

i cannot think of a big budget action movie which opened in single digits and was a success

Even war opened at 50cr and did india net of 280..these movies are mostly about the 1st weekend..

tashan was supposed to be action movie , and it tanked right after noon show.

it had mighty akki and yrf attached.

honestly, i am even surprised alpha getting that 6 to 7 cr , especially after War 2 and dhurandhar. initially pinkvilla predicted 4 to 5 cr.

i feel any movie with over 100cr budget needs 15cr + opening and good WOM to sail thru.

even war 2 did not get that initial they were targetting, dhurandhar as well.

lets own it....the producers push that extra few crores to get it going.

and i am talking about all the production houses, yrf being the champbut maddox overtaking it.

yrf are still one of the most sincere reporting producers..they did not inflate any numbers for war 2 or tried to show that it has not failed..

with tashan you basically answered the Q very well..it tanked from noon shows onwards..never getting that initial..these movies are all about initial..they cannot pull out a kahani / MWA and emerge successful with a single digit opening

I am honestly surprised at prediction of 4-6 cr..like that cannot happen

Wttj released on Muharram holiday. So the family audience must have come in. Lets see if the fam audience comes in for Alpha.
