So the response from Hirani is that Dunki failed because alot of people in India did not get visas at that time

I respect when members who have watched a movie don't like it, but why peddleing the narrative that Dunki was a "failure"... and that by a director who absolutely wanted to work with ShahRukh... now absolutely wants to work with Aamir (his two-times favourite) and lower the success of Dunki???... gosh... if he r e a l l y said this (and it's not an invention), then I pity him (like I would pity Imtiaz if it was true what he said about JHMS).

Dunki was a movie made with a budget of max 120 cr... The boxoffice had been (Sacnilk):

Dunki has achieved worldwide gross collections of ₹454.00Cr (India Gross: ₹272.00Cr, Overseas: ₹182.00Cr) and ₹227.00Cr in net collections.

Even the India net collection surpassed the budget largely... interesting again the gross amount overseas. Dunki was a clear Hit. With this story... and no happy ending, who would have even expected that the movie would become a Blockbuster.

In addition, proved massive cheating had been done by AA Films to push Salaar - and even the announcement of the clash was a deliberate pitching Prabhas against SRK. After Pathaan and Jawan not tanking because of audience clearly giving the #boycott attemps the middlefinger, those who tried since 2015 to get SRK on his knees had to try other things.

just to add: I hate it when someone blames the audience... of course not everybody "relates" to a movie in a wished way, but honestly, I'm more inclined to not bring the "middle-class" narrative but looking for other flaws - h i s flaws... like it was done in this review:

Why are you defending this stupid movie ?

Do not defend stupid ideologies, stupid cults , stupid movies....Not good.

Because it had "lut put" whatever it was & whenever SRK acts 40 years younger than his age, it looks cringe. I've admired this man for so long. He really gotta start choosing films that elevates his aura, matches his stature & give up acting whatever he has been doing.
