Yeah. i feel the mother will encourage R to propose.. and CE/Aunt will somehow want to sabotage.. and end up knowing about Lalit and painting a damaging image to R regarding A's intentions.

Ab lag raha hai propose kar hi daalo. May be after that they will stop all the dialogues related to 'they will be married'. Pata nahi why it is necessary?
