It was just that he and Sonakshi loved each other and wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
But the Mumma's boy, spineless husband that he was, it was any girl's bad luck.
He was an amazing son, brother and father; but a terrible husband. He ranged between intense/ crazy love to almost being spineless. He never knew how to draw the balance between his over indulged mother and a strong headed wife.
He lost precious 7 years of his life without his wife and daughter to learn that he needs to create boundaries with his mother as well.
So, no, No girl deserves to be with Dev Dixit honestly...
PS: You are too young to actually understand this maybe, but by my age, you'll actually feel that such husbands are actually very toxic. Not like, you can't spend your life with, but you will always have a reason to doubt your decision to marry him.
. Or else in all the other serials the seperation track is permanent. And some serials turn really toxic after that. I would say ram and priya from season 2 were also still better than others in that aspect. Oh yes maybe sooraj and Sandhya from diya aur baati as well
