From people in TN , bjp is symbol of division,caste based discrimination,domination by brahmins..which is why they wont allow them here..very difficult dynamics for people outside state to understand

Exactly ..here caste based issues are so high already..people dont want religious issue in addition to it..

Was the level of frustration and disappointment so so high with DMK?

I get that young teenage first time voters voted for Vijay in huge numbers, I was watching a coverage that said that for the first time such a huge number of young mass has come out and voted...i am certain that they were there for Vijay who is the biggest mass superstar after Rajnikant ,...but DMK ke voters kahan gaye....that even Stalin lost his seat..

Yep, too many issues. Law & order, price increase, custodial deaths, religional politics, too many to count.

Actually that's not true. Because of SIR, a lot of votes were removed. If we remove that percentage, the polling only has increased slightly.

So are you telling that Vijay was the right person (in terms of popularity and mass appeal not for anything else) at the right place at the right time..?

People wanted a change, Vijay being a hugely popular face along with being new added up for him....Is this what you are saying?

But I have heard that Vijay has been doing ground works and dropping hints since 2010s...

Man changed his entire filmography...his movies were not only this Messiah,insaniyat ka rakhwala kind of characters earlier that he played post 2010s...he knew a section of people kind of falters when it comes to differentiating between reel and real...and he used his medium for image building...
