That is because nothing is foreign for us unlike the crazy southies. Everything is Indian. If the students here are told to study Tamil Langauge they will excel and be better than 50 percent of the state. Without the fear of the Langauge taking over us. We will still talk in our preferred language. South people are so so insecure regarding thier Langauge that If there is a Langauge that's being taught in the schools, kids will forget thier own Langauge and start using the Langauge they are being taught in school. Very Off topic but few days back I also saw a girl from Bihar score 94% something in Tamil language under the 3 language format.. I always wonder if this is not the better way of promoting different languages.. I agree with Southern states when they say that their language should be preserved and more efforts should be taken by hindi speakers to learn their language... There is so much of literature, history, knowledge in every language that for sure they must be preserved... But instead of heckling, isn't letting children learn language in schools is a better way of promoting and expanding the language .... Children are always fast learners... 3 language formula should not be opposed but promoted... Agree that children in the Southern states may end up taking Hindi as the 3rd language because of the opportunities it may offer, like it recently happened in Karnataka, but then the Hindi speaking children will also take up their language as their 3rd .. Will it not equalize and help in more integration !! Besides learning more languages always help in better cognitive abilities...
