Very Off topic but few days back I also saw a girl from Bihar score 94% something in Tamil language under the 3 language format.. I always wonder if this is not the better way of promoting different languages.. I agree with Southern states when they say that their language should be preserved and more efforts should be taken by hindi speakers to learn their language... There is so much of literature, history, knowledge in every language that for sure they must be preserved... But instead of heckling, isn't letting children learn language in schools is a better way of promoting and expanding the language .... Children are always fast learners... 3 language formula should not be opposed but promoted... Agree that children in the Southern states may end up taking Hindi as the 3rd language because of the opportunities it may offer, like it recently happened in Karnataka, but then the Hindi speaking children will also take up their language as their 3rd .. Will it not equalize and help in more integration !! Besides learning more languages always help in better cognitive abilities...

That is because nothing is foreign for us unlike the crazy southies. Everything is Indian. If the students here are told to study Tamil Langauge they will excel and be better than 50 percent of the state. Without the fear of the Langauge taking over us. We will still talk in our preferred language. South people are so so insecure regarding thier Langauge that If there is a Langauge that's being taught in the schools, kids will forget thier own Langauge and start using the Langauge they are being taught in school. Whose fault it is that they can't ignore any other Langauge and keep chatting in thier own Langauge?

I have a question as a potential voter. Aisa kya kiya hai NDA ne for TN’s growth and development that we should fall all over ourselves and vote for them ? ( we will ignore AIADMK being a part of the alliance temporarily)

TN people are all well aware that the current ruling party is shit. Why should we vote for NDA? Because the alliance party is offering fridge/ freebies whose costs will eventually be borne by the people ?

Heights hai bhai.

lol you know what ? You are mistaking the stance of one party as the stance of the whole state. For your information, I can speak, write and read 3 languages other than my own regional language & I am a South Indian. Not that I feel I should justify shit to the likes of y’all but pls, if you want people to respect Biharis, maybe you should stop judging a state because a stupid party is spewing shit for its own electoral purposes.

We aren’t insecure about learning a different language. There are so many South Indians who are multi lingual. Hindi was forced upon us, hence the disdain for the language is natural. That said, there are literally lakhs of people who can read, write and understand Hindi. Heck, we have a centre for learning Hindi (Hindi Prachar Sabha) and thousands of kids come there year after year to learn a language. If we were so insecure, we wouldn’t put in the efforts to learn.

Ironic.

Freebie politics is being practiced in TN since Jayalalitha’s time..maybe even earlier. I haven’t followed the politics before that. But this 2016 article mentions TN’s ‘competitive history of populism’. So even then it wasn’t a novelty. How r other parties going to ruin something thats already ruined?

At state level? TN has never elected NDA so it wouldn’t know.

At central level TN has received much

Much is subjective I feel. In whose estimate, is it much? Is their approach towards growth and development the same towards all the 28 states ? No favouritism?

There’s an extent of offering freebies. This time it’s just too much. Eventually the brunt of all this will be borne by the people.

freebies have always been there but not to this extent..it has become way worse this time due to tight competition ..it is looking like impending doom to me..

Favoritism is always there..any state that supports central(party wise support -tax is always paid regardless) always received favours and projects from centre and state which dont support central party dont get that much..only blame game happens..

Chennai/coimbatore has blooming students and working population and is in dire need of metros due to road traffic..but central has denied state proposal citing x and y issues ..while in north many metros are running simply without people ..

Dont know when we will raise above this pettiness
