You're forgetting that he'll only die after Rahi becomes pregnant and then after she goes crazy, yet another kid will be raised by this useless hag Pumaa who insists that the kid refer to her as - AnuMaa

If someone wipes out an entire generation of your family, especially your grandkids like Pumaa is doing to Vasundhara, then at the least she should take revenge instead of just cursing. Because Pumaa is herself a demon so all sorts of curses, insults and taunts have no effect on her.
