Didn’t know Saher was inspired by some Turkish show but it suddenly makes a lot of sense. There was another Turkish remake with Aditi Sharma, a few years ago and while I love her as an actress, I couldn’t watch it because the show basically was about her falling in love with her boss. Not an issue but the premise is she’s a widow who works as an architect at a firm and is a single mom. Her son is diagnosed with cancer and the treatment is expensive. She asks for a loan from her boss and is willing to have it deducted from her salary. She even quotes the amount as a very specific number. He agrees but says she must sleep with him.

She agrees despite being revolted by the proposal as nothing matters more to her but her son’s life. Not even her dignity and self respect. The guy finds out via his mom and her best friend somehow that he essentially blackmailed a desperate widow trying to save her child into sleeping with her and he apologises. He says he was raised by a single mom too who was a widow and if he’d known her circumstances in the entirety earlier he wouldn’t have even accepted to get paid back but helped her out as it is.

They get married in the end.

BV is an exception. Even when they showed uncomfortable things they never glamorised them. They made sure we as audience felt uncomfortable with the fact that such a thing was happening and was considered normal. They made us see child widows, teens who had to go through puberty, marital rape and things like a man old enough to be a father marrying a girl who could have been his child but never made them glamorous.

I wish producers didn’t make light of serious issues such as domestic violence. It’s a super natural show, why at all show such themes ?

Exactly. It’s a super natural show that mostly doesn’t have an iota of logic. It’s not needed here. ITV doesn’t even have a disclaimer for these things. It might actually end up triggering victims of such abuse.

They were made for each other as long Prena didn’t know his reality. Had she found out, she would’ve never been with him. Just to make him stay in the show, they never exposed him so Prena keeps staying with him and falsely feels indebted to him 🤢

Sam was a good person, but I found her annoying in all the scenes I have seen on insta. May be because I was watching those as AnuPre fan and didn’t like her being so positive. I don’t remember her much in childhood because I couldn’t watch the show by then. I lost access to cable/starplus by that time. But recently I finally came across one scene of her where I found her likable because she called out Anurag and the whole dhoong as she called it of AnuPre, but by then they had made her negative :( She didn’t deserve it. Anything to make the fl look good and in that scene Prena was there too, making victim faces 🤡

I heard about that show of Aditi’s. Some were talking about it on Ghum forum. Such a messed up story. The guy rapes her and they end up together. There is this Turkish show which has been translated to Urdu/Hindi called Pyaar Lafzon Main Kahan. It’s such a cute show full of friendships, comedy and romance. They could’ve just adopted that instead of Saher and it would’ve worked too as itv young audience like such shows especially now when there aren’t any like that being made atm. That’s the only Turkish show I have watched and I loved it
