Also, I am in the minority who didn't understand the craze of Akshay in Part 1.

For me, Part 1 too was all about Ranveer and Hamza only.

Akshay was good, but only when you pay attention to the movie do you realise that the real moves were made by Hamza.

Dhar essentially gave Ranveer the quietest role of his life while he made Akshaye seem this larger than life flamboyant personality. Essentially the real life personalities were flipped smiley36 and while there’s no denying Akshaye was brilliant; the movie wouldn’t have been the same if Ranveer’s performance had faltered at any point.

So, I am with you on this one. IMO both the movies are essentially Ranveer’s best ever performance yet. Anyone who thinks otherwise well… they’re free to their opinions.

I've been in a daze the past couple of days.. it's not left me despite having watched it a week ago. Part 1 stayed with me for a month, such a visceral experience. I've not felt this way since probably Maine Pyar Kiye, which was my 1st foray into the craze of BW.

Say what you will about his intentions but filmmakers will no longer be able to shove down the same drivel and expect the audience to lap it up.

Idk why people have their knickers in a twist, it says inspired by fictional events. Same vein as Inglorious Basterds this is, fantasy version of what you'd like to see happen to Nazis, and terrorists.

As a Veer supporter (though I haven't always been steadfast), boy must he and his fans feel vindicated! 3 years of constant barrage of unwarranted negativity.

You can't help but take notice of every aspect of him, physically and the vibe he brings.

His shuddering reaction to his sister in the pump and the last scene reacting to his family surpassed any expectations which were already sky high, as an actor.

Such a win for Veer, Dhar, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, all for different reasons. They must feel exonerated after so many years, though it's been longer for Rakesh Bedi to get a role like this.

I am partial to part 1 which isn't all that fair to 2, as you'd expect it to have that slight edge being the building blocks to the world created and character development. And those who read into the Lyari gang knew Football gate was due as well as the fate of mostly everyone.

Yet time passed more quickly and it gained momentum in the 2nd half.

Jaskirat's back story was lacklustre though, such a disconnect from the rest of the film. I felt like I was watching Agneepath or those 80's/90's revenge flicks.

In part 1, my guess was it was politically motivated, something like 1984 or something deeply personal to connect Jaskirat to India.

Otherwise how does he swiftly go from resenting India to being a patriot, hence it would have been more fitting to link his backstory to history.

And I'm not sure if I buy the Jameel Jamali reveal - you need twists to hit you and be able to go, "ah now that makes sense". Other than Yalina narrating her Dad is constantly with bad company, nothing really makes sense. Why wouldn't he try to save the 4 Baloch boys or bring it to Hamza's attention...

But managed to bring a smile nevertheless.

Rakesh is such a vibe, looks like an angry bird but cute, his scenes are probably the relief we all needed.

Probably the 1st time I've seen and really appreciated Arjun act. Him and Rehman really bring out the terror.

So I was disappointed when he decided to go the James Bond villain/Hooded Claw route that he needed to torture Hamza instead of finishing him when he had the chance.

I didn't feel the shudder as I did in Part 1 when he announces he's caught an Indian spy while holding Hamza.

His backstory did form the better parts of the movie, what makes Major Iqbal, him!

During 1+2, on more than 1 occasion, I got confused with him and Ranveer!

So many charismatic men, including the hottie Danish Pandor!

You feel guilty for appreciating the bonhomie between Uzair, Hamza and Donga..

Also quite smart of Dhar to use well known bangers like Tamma Tamma during high adrenaline scenes, you literally feel the buzz and like signing along to a gratuitous scene where SP meets his maker.

And Omar!! From someone you'd expect to garland and say adieu to, to him breaking out and being the destruction of Hamza as we know him.

Lost in Jaiye Sajana which has been played on loop, the soft piano just hits the spot!

Next obsession is Akhri Ishq, the flute makes it so forlorn sounding and tugs at the heart strings.

I also adore Gehra Hua in slow motion during their 1st meet, more than the actual track.

And the drum music played during Tamma Tamma was the same if not remiscient of Ramba Ho, same vibe of shit's about to go down.

I so wish part of screen time devoted to Jas' backstory could be spent on Sara Arjun.

I wasn't ready for her playing a next to nothing role, even though it doesn't befit Dhar throwing her token scenes to empower female characters just for the sake of it and feed that criticism, I was still expecting that oomph.

Despite being able to count the number of Yalina scenes, the ending had me distraught. That flute music adds to the poignancy.

I hope Sara doesn't get swept up by BW, she's someone you feel protective towards.

Slow on the uptake but I just clocked onto the fact why Baazigar plays when Hamza hosts Pinda...

People take the piss of the peak detailing but I missed that aspect from part 1 in this film.

In Gehra Hua, you see the cook tending to the boy and next scene he's plotted to poison him.

Also how on earth did Sanjay Dutt agree to this film, the dialogue where he is alluding to Dawood, "waise toh mera ghar bade saheb se chalta hai".

What's been entertaining is seeing the reactions change, 1st it was "Fake corporate figures which explains the silence" to then comparing it with a pile of dog shit that was Animal. Like a film that uses plastic surgery as a plot device from Ektaa Kapoor peak days could be compared to Dhurandhar.

Another false equivalence to hype up you know who.

But anyhow like Rakesh Bedi quoted Ghalib when describing the audiences' love, the public has spoken!

Haven't seen anyone discussing this, so I'll bring it up. When Pinda hallucinates and sees Hamza as a "ghost" in his drug induced haze, did that "ghost" remind anyone of Narsimha avatar? Because that's the first thought that came to my head.

@bold - he’s literally doing any and every role offered to him down south in movies where he can’t even speak the language regardless of which one it is playing parts that make you think of the OTT villains of the 70s and 80s. Think Amrish Puri, Danny etc. speculation is he’s under massive debt.

Dhurandhar has given him his first decent role where he’s not looking like he’s sleep walking to pay off the bills in nearly a decade so yeah…
