I am quoting you but the request it not for you. The post reminded me of something I have been meaning to ask but keep forgetting.

I would like to ask for and see the version that has not been altered by men as that claim has been made repeatedly here that men changed it.

Or better still they can send me all the versions date stamped highlighting the changes made by who and on what date along with the original one.

I believe the response will be what you stated. There is only one version but no harm in asking if someone has all these different versions

You are also correct. A lot of it does need UCC. This was my point about why I like and respect the modi govt that is not afraid of correcting laws and past mistakes as you say. I would like to see UCC passed in my lifetime

I read about sha bano case before I saw haq ...for every citizen the criminal laws r same but they let the Muslims, tribals and minorities have their civil laws ..

No imo its very tough to implement ucc even when govt has the means ..ucc means challenging the secular framework of the constitution....A constitutional amendment is needed & mass support is required for it not only in parliament but in society

Im all for it though ..Just remove the word secular from the constitution ..but we cannot do away with the minorities can we ? They are protected by the same laws as we are..they're also Indians..this isnt the problem of the present govt alone , like i said these r historical mistakes (like article 370) ..reform is needed first at a societal level ..

In my lifetime if govt manage to pass a simple patriotic law ill be happy 😅

The word "secular" was added to the Preamble of the Indian Constitution in

1976 through the 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act. Pushed by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the Emergency

we do not need to remove the word to pass UCC as having one civil law for every citizen doesn’t make India non secular. Do you know that there is one law for Muslims and rest for the rest. There isn’t one for Sikhs, Jain’s , Parsis etc. So UCC is actually the best form of democracy that has one law for all regardless of religion

The only hurdle is the votes (seats) needed to make this much needed change.
