Women in Islam are regarded as spiritually equal to men, with recognized rights to education, property ownership, marriage consent, and inheritance, established by the Quran. While cultural practices vary widely, Islamic teachings emphasize a balanced, often complementary role within family and society, where mothers and women are highly honored.

Iran is btw very strict in enforcing hijab but other countries are lenient. Some don't do but some practice as per there wish.

For eg: I don't, but my little sister does, and we got the same teachings from our parents, so it's individual perception.

Sahih al-Bukhari 2658

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?" The women said, "Yes." He said, "This is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind."

Perfect is something that doesn't need any change. However, Sanatan dharma has changed in every yuga. For ex. In Treta yug, in the Yug of lord Ram, brothers wouldn't even think of killing their brothers but at the end of Dwapar, Lord Krishna himself encouraged for the holy war against adharma even if it meant killing one's own brothers & elders. So Sanatan Dharma is something that is ever evolving and encompassing. It is not stuck in some distant era.

Yeah, thats actually one of the things i love most about sanatan dharma, it has the flexibility to evolve with time and adapt when change is needed. Just like everything in nature, nothing stays the same forever, change is constant.

Thats why i dont think it makes sense to apply 1st or 6th century thinking to people living in the 21st century. Times have changed, circumstances have changed and naturally, beliefs and practices should evolve as well.

Im not saying people shouldnt believe in god. Faith is personal. But practices that cause harm in todays society should be reconsidered. If anything, making changes that reduce harm and promote well being aligns more with the essence of spirituality, i dont think god would have an issue with that.

He is leader of opposition, son of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, grandson of former prime minister Indira Gandhi and Great grandson of Nehru. He is dynast. Their family runs main national party called Indian National Congress.

Yes people do support him, his party is left leaning. But his support is not as strong as Modi. His party is constantly getting defeated under his leadership. People are tired of their family politics and appeasement politics. But yes there is certain section of people who likes him and his party.

One more thing is, his statements never makes sense to me and always come across as dumb and stupid arguements, he really dont know how to lead such big national opposition party.

‘We’ll bomb Delhi, Mumbai if US targets our nukes’: Pakistan’s former envoy to IndiaFP News Desk • March 22, 2026, 09:00:09????

Basit, who served as Islamabad’s top diplomat in New Delhi from 2014 to 2017 framed India as Pakistan’s “default” target in a worst-case scenario where the US targets its nuclear assets.

As tensions in West Asia intensify amid the ongoing Iran war involving the United States and Israel, a controversial statement by former Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit has raised fresh concerns about regional security.

Speaking about a hypothetical worst-case scenario, Basit, who served as Islamabad’s top diplomat in New Delhi from 2014 to 2017, suggested that Pakistan could strike India if faced with an existential military threat from the US or Israel.

Still my stance was same that it’s never allowed to take justice on our hands. Tolerance and forgiveness should be incorporated instead and keep the rest of the matter to our Lord. Howevers, those people need to understand too that making fun of others is equally unacceptable too.

See, my aim was to say that mocking is not acceptable since it could hurt the sentiments of those who firmly belief in our Creator. But it never meant that Terrorism can get a clear chit. Nobody in their right mind would want to see bloodshed. Humans are designed to feel pain and empathy.

Despite having contrasting differences, we are humans first. We need to explore ways to diminish the negative perception of each other. I understand opinions vary largely, but to some extent, at last, we all are rooting for a wonderful planet Earth, aren't we?

And lastly, no body is my friend here. I just joined this discussion when one user told me on the world cup thread regarding this. Well, I am not silencing you at all. I am reading and replying. Thanks for understanding.

Genuine question. What do you think about Mirza Gulam Ahmed (Qadiyani)

This seems to be a concerning issue.

US defence is considered amongst the best defences of the world.

If Iran is able to do what’s in the news, this war not going to end soon or worse might cause events unimaginable.
