No, it is not related to a place of worship. It is about initiating a journey from one place, like someone is coming from abroad so it's usually said. It is mainly about the journey.

Both Mecca and Medina are the safest places on Planet Earth.

In our religions a pilgrimage is also considered v safe.

My question is why is it considered safe for women accompanied by men ? In our religion we think anything is as safe for women as it is for men. We don’t differentiate.

Can you elaborate as to why Mecca and Medina are safest places on the entire planet ? I have never ever heard that phrase before so there must be something I need to educate myself on.

I don't think there is any data to show that Mecca or Medina are safest places on Earth, but let's not go there that could be your belief.

Why is the travel made such a huge issue? When women can travel abroad alone for studies/job why not for pilgrimage? Shouldn't that decision be of woman on how she wants to go?

And it's not on how it's usually said but a proper rule.

Also even if for a moment you say it's for safety then can only a Mehram provide safety? Why not a cousin or a friend?

1. It is a Sunnah and encouraged practice for women to perform prayers in mosques. You can see here in Toronto, every mosque has a big place for females too. Even in Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morroco, the Middle East and etc, female prays normally in the mosques.

2. Two times, I performed Umrah alone without any male guardian, so it is definitely allowed by the government, but religiously, it is safer to be accompanied by a mahram.

Hajj isn't allowed without a Mehram

Couldn't there get a thread made with the general subject of Islam & Islamic extremism/terrorism (maybe in Debate Mansion)?

if only the world ran on her opinion smiley18

How many times does she need to be told that this war is to tackle Islamic extremism / terrorism. This is an openly stated position of the US government for this war. In fact this is the reason they don’t want Iran armed with nukes.

However, This same member made disgusting posts on Hinduism and Hindutva in this thread that have absolutely nothing to do with this thread.

She has also been posting all this AI stuff and lots of other whataboutery on a variety of topics.

If it irritates her so much she should simply go away and not disturb us that are bringing awareness of this problem.

DNI has spoken of Pakistan as number 1 threat. Same reason. Islamic extremism and terrorism. They also ranked 1 number on that recently. So their turn is likely coming up soon. What is this member then asks for the entire forum to be shut down ? Don’t listen to this unreasonable and repeated asks by her and waste your time. 🙏🏻

Charlie Hebdo thanks you ❤️ and is protecting you and me from the heavens above from such folks that defend Islamic extremism and terrorism

When both believe in extremists and their wrongdoings, why fight without any reason? Aren't we both looking for a peaceful world?

Ye Salman Khan ka naam pata hai ab ye kaunsa Salaman agya - anyways it doesn't matter. Salam khan used to be my favorite actor!

Salman Rushdie is the writer of Satanic verses

The issue is that people want that their lord/ sacred figures should be respected but don't do the same for others

I was taking baby steps to get to same questions. Ty for asking mine as well. :).

I was also going to ask. Why have the concept of Mehrams for anything. Has anyone ever asked if this leads the ones that are not mehrams that they can do anything they want since they aren’t. Is it what lead to grooming fans in UK and elsewhere and hence one of the potential or possible cause of Islamic terrorism that leads to such wars as one in Iran.

One must really dig deep into such issues as one member suggested recently (tho she seems to defend the extremists) and go beyond the surface to find root cause on what all of this can lead to that starts explaining extremists / and terrorists behavior and psyche.

Have they been any psychological studies on these aspects and its impacts ?

1. Protection and Safety: The primary reason is to protect women from potential dangers, harm, and harassment during journeys, especially in uncertain or dangerous environments.

Assistance with Hardship: Travel can be physically demanding. A mahram is expected to take care of the woman’s needs and handle difficult situations.

Preventing Harassment/Temptation: It is a preventative measure against unwanted attention, unethical advances, or situations that could lead to "fitnah" (strife or corruption).

Preventing False Accusations: It protects a woman’s reputation from slander or scandal, ensuring her honor is maintained while traveling.

Because of these reasons it's strongly advisable, likewise jaisey mostly logo ke parents careful hotey hn ke unky bachy akely na jaye aur kisi problem me na parjye.

2. Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There will be no town which Ad-Dajjal will not enter except Mecca and Medina, and there will be no entrance (road) (of both Mecca and Medina) but the angels will be standing in rows guarding it against him.

Sahih al-Bukhari 1881

It is related to Anti-christ Dajjal so you may research about it.

The restriction of a mahram for Hajj and Umrah has been removed by the Saudi government in the past few years. I even went for Umrah twice last year alone. So she can definitely travel, no issues.

Regarding the safety aspect, it is related to the fitna of Dajjal.
