Since KN story here doesn't make sense i would assume Karan married tanya when ansh nandini did. He could never forget nandini. Nandini got pregnant after the rape and ansh is dead by then. For whatever reason tanya left karan - maybe she's dead or she divorced. After that KN married. So when karan lied about stillborn baby out of love and being a friend to N.
