Sant bhai is not over confident -- Kiwis have delivered so he's probably riding high on the confidence with which they defeated SA in the semi finals

Sanju Samson and the negative matchups

Sanju largely revived India's tournament. It needed that humbling to draft him and the moment he stepped in, the batting flow changed. He covered for Abhishek's poor form and delivered a match-defining performances against West Indies and the semi-final as well. But, if you are going to take data seriously, the odds are stacked against him today. Santner has dismissed him thrice in 10 balls, while Henry, Ferguson and Neesham have got him twice before. And he averages a best of 10 against all four bowlers. If he can win the off-spin battle and somehow survive early threats, a quick 20-25 will be a job well done. Anything beyond that could well be a match-winning again.

Ishan and SKY

Just like Abhishek, Ishan Kishan has been troubled by offies in this tournament. 5 dismissals at an average of 13 is convincing enough to attack Ishan with right arm offies as well. But he did manage to make significant contributions in few of the games by negating them. He has smashed Henry at 290.90 and he has a strike of 160+ against Ferguson and Santner with a healthy average. So if he can see off the offies, there is more than enough reason for him to make it big.

If it's right arm off-spin for Ishan, it's left arm orthodox for SKY. Any game he plays against Mitch Santner, he has to be really careful. Santner has dismissed SKY 5 times in T20s but outside of that, none of the NZ bowlers have managed to trouble him. So if he wins this contest, watchout New Zealand because SKY averages 58.44 against them.
