Welcome to the final league game of WPL 2026, where the Delhi Capitals Women face the UP Warriorz Women at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. The situation is simple for Delhi, a win today takes them to 8 points and secures the final spot in the Eliminator against Gujarat Giants. However, if they lose they will likely be knocked out because Mumbai Indians have a better net run rate. Historically, Delhi has been the stronger side in this matchup. Winning 5 of the 7 games played between these two teams, including a 7-wicket win earlier this season. While the UP Warriorz are at the bottom of the table with only 2 wins from 7 matches, they can still qualify if they beat Delhi by a massive margin of around 150 runs. With the pitch in Vadodara being great for batting, Delhi will need to be at their best to avoid an upset and keep their championship dreams alive.

Abhishek Nayar, UPW head coach: "[The message has been] plain and simple... they've got nothing to lose. Our thought process is the same today: win first, and then we'll look at the equation later. It's too early for reflection. I feel in a lot of ways, it has been a season of hits and misses. The learnings are far more. My first time in women's cricket; lot of learnings. It's T20 cricket, and sometimes things don't go your way. Women's cricket is different. When you plan, you have to be a lot more precise. It's been the first year for both of us [him and Lanning, as captain]."

7.25pm We're just five minutes away from the action. If you support DC, it's pretty simple: you need to pray that they win, as a loss will mean their campaign is done. Whereas if you're a UPW fan, you may have already contacted Harry Potter for a miracle. Finally, if wish MI progress, UPW simply go past DC by a mortal and measurable margin.

"One, two, three - DCCCC!!" - Rodrigues' final hurdle ahead of the match comes to a close, before her side spreads out on the field. Lanning, facing her former side, opens the batting for UPW, with Deepti for company.

1 wicket gone!!!

Given lbw first ball!! Henry is pumped, and is busy punching the air. Lanning has a word with her partner, who advises her to walk back - so UPW decide not to review. This is what happened: Henry swung the ball in, and landed it on a full length on middle and leg. I thought the ball straightened after pitching, before striking Lanning in front. She went for the drive but missed, and that hardly required much appealing from Henry for umpire to raise his finger!

Marizanne Kapp to Deepti Sharma, FOUR, just over the fielder at mid-wicket. Probably could have got her fingers on the ball. Deepti clears her front foot and slogs the full delivery across the line. Doesn't get it off the sweet spot, but had enough to clear the in-field

Chinelle Henry to Deepti Sharma, FOUR, another boundary for Deepti. She comes down the track and gets it over the in-field comfortably this time. Gets it in her zone and she ensures she punishes the ball for four.

UPW 19/1 after 3 overs

KAPP TO DEEPTI SHARMA, OUT

Taken at extra cover!! A bit of a tame dismissal. Kapp bowls a slower one, and gives the ball plenty of revs.
