SKY collects the trophy, made out of recycled cricket goods, and goes to the WINNERS board. He hands the trophy to Kishan and Rinku and walks to the side. The trophy is raised and a couple of cheers go off in an otherwise subdued celebration.

Suryakumar Yadav - the Player of the Series and India’s captain, lifts the trophy before passing it around to his teammates. The BCCI support staff join in as the squad pose with the winners’ hoarding, while head coach Gautam Gambhir looks calm and composed - hopeful this young group can carry these performances forward…

A deserved 4-1 series win for India. Very little that went wrong for them, Kishan has been on top. New Zealand will have learnings and experience in conditions that the T20 World Cup will be played in. Lest we forget, they won the ODI series.

New Zealand sealed the three-match ODI series 2-1, but in the shortest format, it was India who firmly stamped their authority. Daryl Mitchell was central to New Zealand’s success in the ODIs, however, he couldn’t quite reproduce those heroics against the reigning T20 world champions. India, meanwhile, ticked plenty of boxes. Abhishek Sharma provided brisk starts more often than not, Ishan Kishan played a few breathtaking knocks, while Suryakumar Yadav rediscovered his touch at just the right moment - on the eve of the T20 World Cup.

With the ball, things looked far more settled as both the pacers and spinners chipped in with regular wickets. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube further proved their value with impactful all-round performances. All in all, India appear a well-oiled unit and the defending champions will be eager to carry this momentum into the T20 World Cup.

Congratulations to India for winning the series 4-1 ; to Ishan for winning the POTM and SKY for Player of the Series!! Very well deserved! smiley32

India might have lost to NZ in the ODIs but regained their momentum by winning the series with a dominant 4-1 smiley40

That’s a wrap to the series - Now then, Suryakumar Yadav receives the trophy from the BCCI President Mithun Manhas and walks towards his teammates, who eagerly wait for their skipper to join them in their celebrations behind the Winners board. That wraps up a high-scoring series, with India taking it 4-1. New Zealand showed glimpses of fight but in patches and couldn’t consistently handle the Indian batting onslaught. Still, they won’t go home empty-handed, having beaten the Men in Blue 2-1 in the preceding ODI series. Both teams now turn their focus to the ICC T20 World Cup, starting next Saturday, 7th February, and will be playing their warm-up games ahead of the main event.

matlab bowling first, Ishan ko chod diya, koi bhi form mein nahi tha. They were like consolation prize deni chahiye apni Kiwi bhaiyon ko— becharon ko khali haath nahi bechte hain ghar. smiley37

I think after getting ahead in the series by 3-0, they have treated the last 2 as trial matches.

Also the reason why they send Rinku before Dube, so that he too get a chance to score.

Except Iyer they gave every other player atleast 1 match to play.

although I feel bad for him — its natural for anybody to have a bad form. VK se leke, Ishan, SKY, almost all fire hitting players have had dip in their forms. We should give him the benefit of doubt, right ?

In the last 17 matches, he has scored well even in one of them.

Also he has got a lot of chances.

I still don't know why the heck CSK paid 18 crores for him and traded their 2 players for Sanju.

Dhoni needs to have a hukka session with Rutu and Sanju before IPL.
