The viral clip from Pakistan had that woman saying that he is her Mama. She didn’t clarify exactly how is her husband related to her mom for her to have addressed him as Mama prior to their marriage. Even the interviewer didn’t ask if he was her mom’s brother or cousin. So I don’t know the details beyond what she said. However even if he’s her mom’s cousin, he still remains her Mama.
I know this happens in South Indian communities but not in the rest of the country as far as I know.
Muslim personal laws are something that Chacha Nehru didn’t want to disturb. He had no such qualms when it came to practically every other community. Even now they remain untouched.

Because her character has no personality, no story of her own. She says almost the same 2/3 dialogues in every scene of hers.
I think at this point Maharaj Ji or Malti have more personality than her and we know that they’re real people we can find nice or greedy and funny. And they’re not even shown as regularly as she is!

Yeah. In Mahabharata yug cousins did marry. But I think they made sure that the Gotras are different. Your father’s Gotra is yours too. For 2 people to marry their fathers couldn’t share the same Gotras. Arjun could marry Subhadra as they were maternal cousins but had she been born to Dhritrashtra and Gandhari, he couldn’t have ever married her.
I think no such exemptions exist in Muslims when it comes to marrying cousins. They can marry a paternal cousin as well as a maternal cousin without any restrictions.
