Only thing I have problem with this drama is that, we barely got Sang Yan scenes with his parents and sister.

I really wanted kamse kam 1 scene mein toh he with his family and Yifan have dinner or have fun.

Yes Sang Yan is a great lover but he is also a great brother, son and friend but uske show mein they showed him only 1 dimension who is FL's lover.

This was the only complaint I had from this drama.

Yes but they promoted it as the story of Sang Zhi's brother, Sang Yan.

But they made the story all about FL.

Even when Hidden love was about Sang Zhi we saw both the leads ke lives and their families. Unlike here. Uper se this has more episodes.

SOM could have been the BEST if not for making it a lowkey promotional drama. Still I would shamelessly recommend SOM cuz it's still good even with those promotions. I found Chongli promotion draggy than the PV industry.

I think The Best Thing is the only promotional drama that didn't feel like they are promoting

Yeah i suppose all of that was in thr bg , now that I've finished the series I can tell ..the last 2 epis highlighted exactly this ..

Ek toh I loved the fact that out of 31 epis , nearly 30 epis in screen time was dedicated to the lead couple , I dont like too many distractions & I couldn't get enuf of these 2 ..I loved the fact that their scenes were pretty long & detailed..

Yeah it appears that his life revolves around her , even when they were separated but in the end when his sister narrates his trauma , she tells wen yifan tht he was always so proud , he believed that he will get everything that he wished for ..while his illusion broke when they separated , he takes up a self reflection path where he spent time with his family, focused on his education & career , keeping yifan in the bg ..they did credit his family when yifan said only such a warm & loving family can raise a son like him ..

So they do share a special bond where he could tell anything to them , at the same time , he was given complete freedom & space ..

Abt the first frost , theres just one thing didn't fit well for me . He was always around her, in the shadows , then how come he was oblivious to such a traumatic phase of her life ? I found it odd.. he didn't try to find out or he just let her be , let her grow ..may be what he said in the hospital , that he was too proud to come bk to her & he should've asked her what's troubling her coz she hid her true self for this long, was the reason..exactly this struck me ...I thought he knew it , yet hes giving her time to come clean ..but he knew nothing of her family situation or her trauma nor try to delve deep..

That's what happened with me too initially I felt this is not bad but its too sad for me..but then I continued to watch N if u cud connect to the lead chars , its a beautiful journey

As an 'annoying book lover who is pissed with most of the adaptations,' I say they should have stuck with what Zhu Yi wrote. She perfectly balanced the Sang siblings' stories across both books. The timeline overlap and everything was so perfectly in sync. But nah the makers and screenwriters HAD to put in some changes from their side. And that unwanted HK track - oh don't get me started on that
