It clearly was due of WOM that the movie got such a success...with a clear quite hesitant opening because none of the stars were the big names that dragged people into the theatres paying hefty ticket prices.

Now, Akshaye got praise and a push in his career - to me absolutely okay as he definitely is a good actor with a special charisma... and Ranveer got the star-status, he deserves since a while.

I'm not happy about the movie (although really well made) but I'm happy about the way actors got recognised for their performances.

Why should someone watch Dhurandhar if not interested in the performances...the story itself is the greatest flaw of the movie...using fiction of actual events in a way to peddle a certain narrative one wishes to get spread and using the current liking for extreme display of violence isn't something I would laud a movie for.

It really is like in Romans times: entertainment for the masses to distract from more serious issus.

That said, the movie is - technically - really well made... like the deadly circus plays in Rome's Collosseum...
