Few thoughts: DK and Mannat scenes establish the comfort, care, and mutual respect they share. Over the years, they have lived as a family, sharing responsibilities and understanding each others strengths and weaknesses. For both of them, Dua is everything, and they have jointly handled her upbringing. From Mannat’s perspective, Vik pushed her to such an extent that Shruti’s death and his rejection of the baby forced her to become strong and self-reliant. Because of this, she no longer wants Vik’s presence in her or Dua’s life. She has accepted her fate and does not want Dua to go through the emotional confusion of questioning her real father. Mannat believes that Vik rejected the baby and has now moved on with his own family, and she has made peace with that decision. Her only priority is to keep her child’s life simple and stable. Mannat understands how much DK means to Dua and remains deeply grateful to him for standing by her during the darkest phase of her life, when she lost her mother, the father of her child rejected the baby, and divorce papers were sent during Shruti’s funeral, marking the end of their relationship. She is unaware that Vik was manipulated and has no idea that he did not know about the baby or the divorce. Throughout everything, DK has been her constant support and has never crossed his boundaries with her. She believes that if Dua had grown up in Mumbai, she would not have had a happy or secure life due to Malla, Vish, and the overall environment there. From my perspective, even after learning the truth, Vik never truly accepted DK as his brother. Instead, he associated DK with his wife, which effectively ended their relationship from both sides. With that, Mannat’s connection to DK through Vik was already buried after the allegations. Despite knowing that Vik does not want to speak to him, DK still tried to intervene during the funeral when Vish once again played her manipulative games. As usual, Vik chose to trust his mother and immediately believed that DK had pushed Vish, causing her forehead injury. DK had earlier warned Vik about Vish’s manipulations and her mistreatment of Dadi, but Vik ignored him. DK also made it clear that if Neetu will go to jail, Vish would face consequences too for Dadi mishap, yet Vik imposed conditions and ultimately protected Vish. Mannat has witnessed DK’s goodness, a man who did everything within his capacity to protect his brother. But when someone refuses to see the truth, there is little more that can be done. She saw a man who protected Vik’s parents gave them shelter, shielded her child from name-calling, and made personal sacrifices to give her and Dua a sense of happiness and stable life that’s why Mannat considers DK a good human. However, this does not mean she has fallen for him. She simply values the fact that he stood by her and Dua selflessly, without questioning or doubting them. In contrast, Vik consistently demanded proof and lacked trust in Mannat’s decisions and judgment. As per Ayesha’s recent IT, Mannat no longer thinks about Vik due to the struggles and responsibilities in her own life. Only when Dua does something reminiscent of Vik does she briefly remember him. Otherwise, she has moved on emotionally and grown stronger. Having lived her entire life in a chawl with Harneet, Shruti, and the support of the local community, adapting to a blended family from different worlds is not new to her. In contrast, Vik appears to have consciously moved on with Yashika. He seems comfortable with her closeness, allowing emotional intimacy, physical care, and her involvement in family and professional spaces. She remains constantly around him. From the audience’s perspective, however, Mannat has not moved on with another man. Instead, she continues to fulfil her responsibilities towards the people around her. Although DK is by her side, she has never allowed him to cross boundaries, which is evident in their interactions. After returning from Mumbai, Mannat emerges even stronger. Seeing Vik move on, she buries her remaining feelings deep within and genuinely wishes him well. This reflects her selfless and giving nature in the relationship. However, Vik is likely to once again misunderstand the situation after meeting Mannat and Dua, leading to more accusations. This will further highlight the difference between Vik and DK and push Mannat from Vik in every possible way till we get some parts if truth out to change the dynamics in current relationships on both sides.
