Gingerbread Danger by Amanda Flower
I would call this a whodunnit littered with candy, fudge, and gingerbread houses. The holiday spirit comes to life with a classic Christmas parade and a life-size Candy land game in the small town of Harvest, Ohio. While the mystery in itself was simple, the addition of romance and changing family dynamics makes it a wholesome Christmas read you would want to cozy up with by the fire.

Book & Author: Snipper Butterfly by Qi Bao Su

Review:

Just a brief mention of Christmas and the buzz around the marketing department designing and promoting seasonal products.

Overall - not my type of story but I was curious to know how the author justified the age gapsmiley36

Quote(s):

The Christmas atmosphere within the company was equally rich. The ceiling was draped with cedar branches, from which hundreds of red and white Christmas baubles hung, illuminated by a sea of fairy lights, creating a dazzling display. Beneath the over-two-meter-tall, brilliantly decorated Christmas tree lay a spread of creative gifts brought by company members, expensive and cheap, exquisite and quirky, all up for grabs based purely on luck. A long white tabletop was covered with an assortment of desserts and pastries.

(Chapter 32)

Quote(s):

Hospitals rarely had a Christmas atmosphere. The small roads and shops on either side of the hospital also isolated it from the holiday cheer. Hu Xiu placed a Christmas-themed crystal ball on her desk. When she turned it on, snow would fall inside the clear sphere. She had always loved Christmas, especially in Shanghai, where the holiday spirit was so strong.

(Chapter 45)

Someone outside cheered, and the whole space became noisy. The music was turned up. No Christmas can escape Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

(Chapter 45)

This book reminded me of Princess Switch movie featuring Vanessa hence thought to check it out.

Here is the review:

The Holiday Swap is a cozy, feel-good holiday romance about twin sisters who secretly switch lives before Christmas. One twin hosts a baking show in Los Angeles, while the other runs a family bakery back home, and the swap leads to mix-ups, romance, and personal growth.

I liked the small town setting & the history with the family bakery - it made me want to visit!

The characters are likable, and the twin-switch twist keeps the plot fun and engaging, even if it’s a bit predictable.

Some quotes that I liked from the book

“there was a whole universe out there and Cass didn’t have to stay stuck in one place forever, waiting for her life to begin.”

“Life is too short to wait for dessert,”

“Maybe we're all just works in progress" — Charlie

1- How my neighbour stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn ___ 466 pages Kindle Edition

If you're looking for a light, lively, no-nonsense story that can bring a sense of lightheartedness and a touch of Christmas warmth, then this book is for you.

2- Merry Christmas you filthy animal by Meghan Quinn ____ 475 pages Kindle Edition

Max and Betty are very cute together and adorably awkward, which is precisely why I laughed several times. Maybe a little too long, and some parts were too cringe-worthy for me ( dark romance addicted junkie🙂‍↕️)

1. Book and Author: Happy Bloody Christmas by Jo Middleton

Page Count: 333

Review : Finding your boss dead in your kitchen dressed as Santa sets the tone for this fast-paced, darkly funny thriller. With a witty, self-mocking narrator, the story turns high-stakes chaos into laugh-out-loud moments. A festive, cheerful, funny thriller.

Some memorable quotes:

“Cheers to living for the moment… because we really never know when it might be our last, and we should all embrace every minute!”

“…we need to live life! Be grateful for everything we have, and find joy in the wonder of Mother Earth!”

2. Book and Author: Not Another Bloody Christmas by Jo Middleton

Page Count: 317

Review : Another murder mystery set on a remote Christmas holiday, with a darkly funny twist!
