That’s the big questions here. This shift in date would have been understandable if Salman was still churning out blockbusters, but he’s not. YRF seems extremely nervous about Alpha and it’s not just because War2 and Tiger3, or whichever one it was, flopped. I think the movie probably hasn’t turned out that good, and they know it. So there’s always an excuse for delays. And every other week there’s a new rumor of a SRK cameo, a Hrithik cameo, extended cameo, item song etc etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just decide to send it to OTT using lack of “good dates” as an excuse.

Does YRF finance their own films? If not, then wouldn’t all this delay add to the budget due to accrued interest charges? I’m genuinely asking.

Things were already bad after War 2 but post Dhurandhar shit has hit the fan and Alpha has become meme material even before release. Imagine how much yrf spyverse will be trolled post Dhurandhar. I have a feeling it may release on OTT directly now unless makers feel they can recover some money in theatrical release. But atp it is the whole YRF spyverse at stake due to above mentioned.
