This is intentional.

Earlier she had a huge family to take care of and so couldn’t focus on herself enough affecting her weight. But she still dressed well because she was a woman in love, one who was happy in her home, life and marriage. Even if she wasn’t exactly fashionable or a diva, she tried to look her best for her husband.

Now she’s a heartbroken woman. There’s no family to look after but also no one she feels she has to dress up for, to look her best. The girls she works with are now her new found family and help keep her mind distracted but nothing is going to help heal her heart.

Her attire and her presentation is in sober colours now, nothing bright. The fabrics are also not silks that have a natural finish and shine to them irrespective of what kind of silk it is and what kind of saree and work is worn. Now it’s cotton and with no regard for what the saree looks like either. It’s a piece of clothing meant to be worn, but it’s not an outfit that she would want to put any consideration in.

After all, what’s the point? Her husband cheated on her despite everything. He assured her that her looks didn’t matter to him and praised her for being the wife, mom and woman she was, called her beautiful regardless of what she saw in her mirror or heard from others including their daughter. She still tried to look her best for him always. Even when he was angry and wanted her to wear something in black, she ensured that she was there for his big day; looking like he wanted her to look but in the end he did what he did regardless of everything.

Nothing could keep her from having a broken heart, then why bother now?

She spent her youth, beauty and life on the one person who broke her heart, not once but twice; so would her looks be her priority at all at this point?

That was intentional as well.

Tulsi was meant to depict women who constantly take care of everyone but forget to take care of themselves. Their bodies would sometimes never lose the weight they gained during pregnancy, there would be stretch marks forever on them. They would take on the responsibility of the well being of the whole family ignoring the mental, emotional and physical toll that they themselves bore.

This was meant to depict the lives of those women whose husbands would cheat on them when they didn’t look youthful and beautiful as they once did, or as well put together as they were once; ignoring that these women were not being lazy or slobs or whatever; but they were being wives and moms who lost themselves in the process of looking after everyone they considered family.

The husband after all does cheat on such a devoted woman who gives him her whole life, youth, beauty, along with children; for a more attractive woman. Someone who looks like a prize on his arm worthy of a man like him. They have simply spared Mihir some dignity here by ensuring that Noyna was not half his age, young enough to be his daughter but a contemporary. Yet one who looked more modern and well put together than his wife, not to mention slimmer.

The sleeping in saree thing is something that happens in almost all shows for heroines to make them seem more sanskari. I don’t know why a kurti with churidar or a nightie or a night dress would cause an earthquake but producers want this for their heroines. I don’t follow a lot of Indian TV shows tbh and usually stick to one at a time because that’s enough to fry my brain. The last show I watched was YHM and Ishita would be shown wearing a short kurti with churidar at night in the show. But in original K shows, the older Tulsi and Parvati were shown the more they kept them in sarees always. Even in scenes where they were in bed for reasons beyond my comprehension.

I agree. Even a change in her hairstyle would make a big difference. She's a charming lady and I think Smriti Irani already has a decent haircut. If they just let her wear her hair loose, it would make her look so much younger.

Maybe it's been done deliberately to highlight Noina as pretty while making Tulsi look otherwise.
