I've been watching tv shows for almost close to 2 decades now and lately I've gone back to watching some old shows and it seems like we haven't moved a day ahead in terms of story telling on Television ...
Okay I wont deny Mannat didn't start off as something very new or out of the ordinary as a plot - but it still did manage to create a place for itself ... the romance , the drama and the narrative did make up for something that brings you to watch what's in store the next day .. and may be that's why I still continue to watch it ...
When the leap was in the offing I was hopeful things would be different- the entire wedding and post wedding drama was dragged to no end - perhaps to set up the post leap story - but I'm very disappointed that makers - don't want to send a fresh message to the audience even today
Vikrant a man who never believed or trusted Mannat is wishing she burn in the same hatred he has set himself ablaze in - while Mannat still continues to pine for him - what message are we sending across in 2025 - that you wait for the man who insulted you ? Didn't trust you ? Abandoned your parents - may be Mannat- Vikrant confrontation will have her initially rejecting him - but who can deny she still loves him - and that's my exact point - should a woman continue to love a man who has displayed such a weak character - threw his own parents out - refused to accept his own child - sheltered a woman who just walked in and called herself his mother ?
We will continue to perhaps watch the show in the name of glorifying pehla pyar like we did in 2001 when kasauti zindagi kay came or 2005 when kaisa yeh pyar hai played or 2010 when Anandi still chose shiv over jagya ... what are we going to see ? Who will Mannat choose ... it's clear and obvious ... the set up , the establishment .. the show is nearing one year of completion- will the show be renewed or axed we don't know that's a call for the channel to take , but on what note or tone will people remember this story - we will have to wait and watch
