Not sure that she really was in love with Raj... He may have given back the joy of life to her and she was sensible to h i s love for her... but what Suri did at the fair explicitly for her was something that touched her more deeply as she had expected ...with everything else he did before - as Suri - she finally could see his love for her and that h e r happiness was his primary goal smiley27 (which was what also Raj showed her)... but with two men - one having married you and caring for you - who showed you their love, why not choose the one who already is your husband???

In my understanding, this movie was quite intelligent - and v e r y touching. When she finally started to r e a l l y see her husband, Raj definitely got the role of a friend and not of a lover... fine to me that she got both in one smiley16

Yeah but it reinforces the patriarchal idea that arranged marriage is better. She should have chose raj before he reveals to her his real identity. The film would have been better.

This wasn't one of the 'usual' arranged marriages, right? It was the wish of the dying father to know his daughter (an orphan then) being cared for...

And no, Raj would not have been the 'right' option as he had shaped his character after Hindi-movie-romantic 'heroes' - he wasn't 'real' but an invention of Suri's love... Suri was the genuine one, not Raj... (but I admired him for having been ready to give Suri up for Raj just to make Tani happy).

But I still can't believe, how she didn't recognise the other version of SRK. She doesn't get any doubt also when she sees him first.

Probably she never looked at him beyond his hairstyle, glasses and mustache bole toh she never looked at his face dhyaan se. 😂

For me, the more surprising thing is how Suri who is such an introvert became a hyperactive and sometimes even shameless extrovert in his 'Raj' wala avatar. Its like, he had two personalities, one he showed to the world and the other one was hidden inside him and it came out only for her.
