I agree with what you are saying. Even I don’t want Mannat to keep forgiving all the time. The other person may acknowledge his mistakes, but he never truly works on them. I want Vik to understand and feel the depth of what this girl has gone through the gravity of his decisions and actions has ruined her life to the extent that she even lost her mother. Mannat’s upbringing is strong. She is a kind-hearted woman who stands firmly by her principles, but when it comes to her loved ones especially Vik she forgets everything else and remembers only one thing that is unconditional love. His terrace act melts her instantly, and that is what made her move forward in the relationship. Now, the focus shifts to Dua. As Shruti suggested, ahem nahi lana, khud ko nahi, bache ko aage rakhna, this will come into play when Mannat learns that Vik didn’t know about the pregnancy. Ultimately, she will not snatch Dua’s rights, but that doesn’t mean she will be completely okay with him. She may accept him as Dua’s parent, but not as her lover or husband. He has to earn that place back for himself. Mannat forgives him for Dua, not for the questions raised on her integrity. She had already addressed this with Vikrant before the leap. If Rotu forgives their son, then who is Mannat to stop them? The same applies to Dua if her father never denied paternity, why should she be deprived of his love, or he of hers? Mannat is sensitive and mature. Her return to Vik will always come from external pressure, not from her own will. This will make Vik feel even more guilty she is around, yet she is not the same with him anymore. Sometimes, the biggest lessons are taught through the smallest actions. Mannat’s resistance will become the pull that forces Vikrant to truly win her back.
