“Akshaye Khanna overshadowed Ranveer in Dhurandar”

Well I finally watched it in theater. I was very excited of the ”performance” of Akshaye Khanna everyone is speaking and that it outshined Ranveer. All those SM edits were bang on. But after I actually watched it i mean what? This is definitely a PR propaganda or people just do not understand anything and starts hyping underdogs for no reason sometimes.

There is NO away, absolute NO way AK outshined RS. Ranveer’s acting was so on point and realistic. Yes AK also played his part well but he never had any good dialogues or scenes given to him that he can outshine ranveer. People watch that Arabic song clips and thinks he outshines RS in the movie because he is in the bg i believe. But thats not the case at all.

Wrote the same in the review thread. AK doesn't have much to do until the climax which is focused on him possibly because it's the end of his characters arc. Infact, the guy playing his younger brother seems to do all the talking.

Sara Arjun though!!! She deserves a lot more praise. Her 20 mins are more impactful than most actresses whole career. Goes from a sweet little teenager to an absolute sociopath in no time and then back.

At the end though it's Ranveer's film. Subdued, Restrained but Intense.

Ive seen quite a few people say this, including shobhaa De, even she saw all the hype akshay was getting and expected him to be the standout, but shobha said she didnt understand the hype after she watched the film, for her ranveer was the standout performance

No one is denying akshay is fantastic in the film, and yes for some he stood out, but there is definitely over hype going on in social media to create this image that he completely outshine Ranveer, which is not true, and we know who those certain people are who are trying to create that image and trying to call it akshays film and not ranveers to try to take credit away from ranveer. Dhurandhar is Ranveers film

Definitely ranveers film and he carried it for sure. And im a neutral viewer i do not have any favorites from bollywood or I do not prefer bollywood movies that much too. I do like ranveer and his credibility of acting although I do not like every movie of ranveer does/did. But he owned this movie
