That was not an apology but a charade of one. She wanted to rub it in Tulsi’s face that she had stolen her husband from right under her nose without her even suspecting.

She also wanted to see if Tulsi might be cooling off, if she was having second thoughts regarding her decision and might forgive Mihir and go back to him. After all she knows that Tulsi has done it once. She didn’t just forgive Mihir but even accepted his child from another woman as her own. The child born as a result of Mihir cheating on her.

Also, what would a slap have achieved? Would it undo anything? It would’ve simply made everyone take attention of these two women while nobody did before. Besides it would have meant touching the woman who was the mistress of your husband in her eyes. Why would you want to touch her in any way possible?

Hence her statement to Noyna, that her existence is irrelevant to Tulsi was a bigger slap than anything she could have possibly done physically,

The reaction downgrades Mihir as well. He’s not worth fighting over anymore with anyone let alone another woman. He’s not some prize or some catch to be treasured. He’s just another person, a person who doesn’t even merit the reaction Noyna came looking for, the exact one you’re talking about.

People are angry, hurt over losing something priceless, they fight over something or someone they love.

You don’t fight over trash, if someone wants to wear it and think it’s some sort of invaluable treasure then you let them enjoy,

When you get betrayed for a second time at this stage of life, after everything, love is the last thing you can feel for that man. You probably don’t feel anything about him at all because every emotion within you has been emptied and you’ve been hollowed out from within. So how can you react with anger, with jealousy or even disappointment when you’ve gone numb from within. When your heart remains as just an organ pumping in your body keeping you alive but it holds no capacity to feel anything anymore.
