Are these guys serious? I mean the writers of this show. Are they aware that this show is running in 2025 and not 1985 that they think they can show practically anything and people will just buy it?
Angad is shown as the son of an incredibly wealthy family and is supposedly competent enough per Mihir to make sure that he handles the job given to him so well that he can ensure there are profits, he’s well educated… then he surely has some personal accounts, investments to his name he can use? Even if he feels he doesn’t want to use the money as he’s not using the Virani surname either - is anything stopping him from using his brain to make some calls, pull some strings and land a job somewhere worth his salt? Perhaps he has friends he can start a business with? He might not be able to invest monetarily but he can surely do the heavy lifting and make up for it?
Why is Vrinda not going out there to get a new job? What has suddenly turned her into a housewife? Isn’t there a household to run there with 5 stomachs to feed now instead of 4? When are her savings running out on her?
Are we really supposed to believe that a guy like Ranvijay managed to get 75 lakhs worth of loan from any bank? Do these people even know how hard it is to get a loan even worth 5 lakhs from a bank these days owing to the paperwork alone? What exactly did Ranvijay provide as a financial record to the bank to secure that loan? How high is his credit score? Did he have credible guarantors willing to back his loan who could be held accountable by the bank in case he defaults on the payments? What did he have as mortgage against loan? How much money did he have in hand to bribe the various agents/agencies hired by the banks that run a background check on those seeking a loan? Are these people seriously thinking that a guy living in a chawl would be able to pull this con off? Seriously?! Could have shown a smaller amount of a couple of lakhs and made the lender some loanshark; would have been more credible and perhaps believable.
Next we are supposed to believe that Ranvijay was able to forge a signature and withdraw 75 lakhs from the bank just like that? Like it was stealing candy from a baby?! Really?!! Do these people even know that for cheques above a certain limit banks verify with the account holder that the cheque issued is legit. Mihir hardly seems to be the sort to keep the chequebooks of his personal accounts at office and at office any chequebook would be for the current accounts of his companies. In corporate houses like Viranis, cheques are not passed simply based on the sign of a single individual - there’s a thorough process of callback verification, KYC submission, something called the “Positive Pay” system which requires the company in question to submit the details of the cheque to be cashed beforehand, clearances are required from the manager of the branch as well, wherein they are trained to do their due diligence before approving the withdrawal lest they wish for a holiday in jail amongst other consequences. Companies themselves ensure there are fail safe mechanisms like amounts above set monetary limits requiring signatures from at least 2 signatories to be approved.
Next is the Amazing Detective Ranganathan. Dude is able to get to investigate multiple cases at once - disguise himself as a vegetable vendor, a peon, a waiter and a random curious fellow chatting up a random drunkard all at the same time, while casually infiltrating the Virani Industries as a peon, plant a phone in their office and record HQ conversations easily. Is there anything this man can’t do? Probably use common sense considering he lands at the doorstep of his client uninformed… because that’s a thing that detectives do.
Lastly, proud as I am of Mihir continuing the proud Virani tradition of going to jail that he avoided in season one throughout, are we really supposed to believe that a man like Mihir, supposedly a multibillion man would just be arrested from his home by cops turning up there unannounced as he remains unaware? Really? Men like that are well connected politically on all sides of the political spectrum and divide and cops just don’t land up at their place to arrest them regardless of the severity of their crime. Cops and judiciary cannot keep movie actors behind bars in this country who are definitely guilty and apparently not half as wealthy as the Viranis are supposed to be…
No wonder Indian TV is losing its popularity these days, the principle of suspension of disbelief has been so overused that people have suspended their interest in these shows utterly and would rather watch dubbed or subtitled shows of other regional Indian languages or foreign languages that don’t undermine and underestimate their intellect.
