Also Indra cannot be completely aloof to the worlds below his in the upper seven worlds... They are closely tied to his own, so he can't really be unconcerned.

@b: yeah. He was not concerned but was aware of what was happening in the lower realms. I meant that. He was not particularly bothered until something threatened his position.

For ex, some asura praying to Mahadev, or Brahma for being invincible, some potential discord between them, etc.,

We make fun but damn, someone really needs to raise an issue on all this -- where the hell are they getting the story from ? Some of the things they are showing is totally unhinged.

From what I remember reading, managing the first two realms (Bhuloka and Bhuvarloka) and his own was his duty. Hence, I think he was concerned. Besides, his (and his associates) powers and well being was tied to how well the lower two realms fared. So, he was definitely concerned but I do agree that his first priority was to secure his position.

Definitely.

I have no clue where they get their ideas from and wherever or whomever it is from definitely doesn't have a single shared of respect to our legends.

Of late I see a lot of classic cliche movie and serials' stories in devotional shows and it's pathetic to make our Gods cosplay their fantasies... What's it with them making our Gods suffer, scream and cry like an abused main character? If only they can stay true to the original, the production will be beautiful.

The wedding story I saw went like this:

Karthikeya and Devasena already liked each other. Indra wanted to rule the entire universe, so he made a deal with an asura who promised him the asura kingdom in exchange for Devasena becoming his wife. (The usual trope of the asura liking Devasena and Diti scheming to make that happen). So Indra is hell bent on getting Devasena married to this asura in hopes of ruling the entire universe. Then follows a series of events which keeps the love birds apart, Karthikeya getting tested multiple times, Devasena being locked up and forced to accept her father's orders, etc... Parvati tries to intervene and help her son while Shiva stops her. In the end, there's a showdown with everyone in the "movie" coming together and fighting, yelling at each other, while some try to stop. Then the lovebirds arrive, wearing garlands and declaring they have already married. They eloped and got married and arrived at the gathering and everyone has different reactions. Then the bride's father abuses the groom's father while the latter dramatically sheds tears drop by drop while the groom's mother watches helplessly (not kidding, this scene happens). And then groom's father explained how his son's actions were just.

Isn't the storyline veeeeeeeery familiar?

We've seen too much of this nonsense already and now they're trying to ruin scriptures with this nonsense and poison the new learners' minds.
