Well if gaurav shifts he would have been uncomfortable as he would be sitting on two different sofas. According to this video he is clearly sitting on the end of one sofa. Malti could have asked farhana to shift instead. Yes if gaurav criticised even after this then it's wrong. Or else I didn't find it wrong IMO
