For me, it’s not about favouritism and more about the writers being incompetent. They seem unable to write meaningful arcs for positive characters, so they prefer building narratives around negative ones. If you notice, along with Malla, even Vish is getting the same treatment since she joined the show. Earlier, Aish was the only vamp in the show, she practically dominated the story for over five months where Mannat wasn’t even aware that she is her mother and she got to know that Mannat is her daughter. The only difference is that we used to enjoy her performance back then; now it feels stale because the essence is gone. She’s not the same ARS anymore, at least for me. Malla, on the other hand, feels more like a prop filler for Aish. The channel never promotes her because they clearly know the audience connects with Manvik. Even after the worst BTS clips being thrown at us, the wedding promo is trending all over social media. Colors knows exactly where the popularity comes from their weekend shows shine on SM, and from the daily soaps, it’s only Mannat who brings them real traction. The problem I have noticed with Mannat’s team is that, according to them, once the leads get married, the story is dead simply because they can’t think beyond that point. That’s why they keep compromising positive characters in the show.
