There’s a huge difference between inheritance and nepotism.
When a shopkeeper’s son takes over the family shop, that’s inheritance - he’s continuing a business that already belongs to his family. But in industries like Bollywood or music, it’s not about “passing down” something you own , it’s about getting access to opportunities that belong to an open field meant for everyone.
If an actor, director, or musician gets their first project not because of merit or auditions, but because of who their parents know, that’s not inheritance ,that’s privileged access. And that privilege often shuts doors for outsiders who don’t have the same network.
No one denies that insiders also work hard, but let’s not pretend the starting line is the same. One gets a launch, the other gets a hundred rejections before anyone even hears them out. That’s what nepotism is about ... Networks and sometimes unfair access, not effort.
