Waise guys, I’ve been meaning to bring this up for a while now...

Why are we duplicating work? We’re already maintaining logs and checking badge eligibility in Excel, so what’s the point of having logs on IF too? 🤔 It just makes the whole process a bit tedious, tbh.

IMO, it’d be better to keep the logs in Excel and use the IF team threads more for community activities instead.

It is a book talk forum, but there isn’t much “talk” happening here lately 😅 Maybe we can start by discussing our past or current reads to spark more conversations?

Idk, I had asked Lizzie and she had told me the reason and I forgot, so jaane dosmiley37I think some people had issues with sheet (I remember Lizzie for one user and I did help out two of my teammates last month) so the log posts are it's just incase situation

But the rest of the post, your threads is basically to do that only, within your team (and if you wanna involve other participants, that's your call too)

Can we maybe be asked to keep one log then? Those who can update in excel do it there, and those who have troubles will maintain their logs on IF

Coz I agree with Sakshi that rn taking care of two logs of the same thing feels like a hassle. When we were doing themes it was 4 logs 😅

Yes, I agree. If you’re comfortable doing it on Google Sheet, update your logs there else, you can update your post on IF.

Dono karna becomes tedious and seems like an unnecessary effort.

NOTE

If the team captain and individual teammates agree, each teammate may maintain only one log (either the Gsheet log or the IF post log) instead of both.

If a participant so wishes, they may maintain both logs (Gsheet and IF post). However, it will be their responsibility to ensure that both logs are kept up to date. (This is ideal for this who add in their reviews and star rating)

If any teammate chooses to maintain only the IF post log, the team captain must ensure that that teammate's logs are added to the Gsheet, either by moving them personally or confirming that the teammate has done so. The teammate must also include the book’s format, title, author, and page count in their IF post. They can also add the star rating in their IF post if they want to.

If a teammate chooses to maintain only the Gsheet log, this should be clearly mentioned in their reserved IF post (which would otherwise have served as their log).

One of the logs must always be kept up to date. The log type you have chosen will be taken as the final record for the month.

Captains, please discuss with your team and decide how each teammate will handle their logs for this month, and let us know.
