This whole Ishani mess could have been avoided had she just opened up to Anupamaa about it. Forget Anupamaa even like Rahi or Prem would do. Like being blackmailed means you’re a victim of a crime, so why are you so scared of telling them that. They’ll try to help you out. Both Raja and Prem offered to help her but she chose to morph Raja’s picture and blackmail him instead. How is that a better solution? If you’re from a family like the Kotharis who sl*t shame women and have antiquated ideals on gender roles and family, then I can understand the majboori. For that matter Baa and the other Shahs are also conservative to a degree, but AnupaMAA is “cool” and always gets with the times, moreover she has consistently proven that atleast when her kids and their kids are in trouble she comes through. So what is with the fact that even in such a relatively safe environment you still choose to withhold info and would rather meddle in your sister’s marriage and commit crimes rather than admit you’re a victim of crime yourself? Then again why to expect any better from them when the adults around are just as immature. First the Kotharis were spam calling the Shahs and now they’re not picking up their calls either. Then again Moti Baa is the same person who rather than get her daughter a divorce, helped her stage a fake death and frame her husband for murder. So they’re not the gold standard in communication either. They denounce Pari for running off to her house and not communicating with them but when in the history of time have the Kotharis supported any woman? Moreover their bahus. These are the people who didn’t believe their own daughter about her abusive husband and even now continue to house that man along with her. I did wonder why Prarthana didn’t have any faith in her father, but judging by how long they kept Gautam there even after she ran away, she was right not to trust them. So even when someone tries to communicate with them it’s not like they are receptive. And at the tiniest inconvenience they make their own sons and daughters in law paraya by calling them stooges of the Shah house then why exactly should anyone be loyal to them? With how quickly Parag had his switch over in personality, I’m waiting with bated breath for Gautam to reveal his true colours and bring them to the streets. It’s high time their arrogance is shattered. Plus Moti Baa needs to have her comeuppance and while I know it’s not too likely I still feel she should go to jail for her crimes.
