Both the hostages as well as civilians from Israel & Palestine have suffered a lot due the actions of Hamas.

Palestinians have been suffering for decades way before Hamas' action on 7th October.

Honestly, the world is waking up to the true face of Israel.

Not getting into that argument again.

Feel free to believe what u do but Israel's most recent action was only because of what Hamas did on 7th October. Otherwise Gaza would have been like that decades earlier what it is like now.

Feel free to quote me again but I won't reply cos I'm tired of saying the same things again & again to different people.

It is one of the most debated in modern history. There’s no single, universally accepted answer, because responsibility for the ongoing Israel–Palestine conflict depends on which period, event, or lens you’re analysing ....historical, moral, legal, or political.

Historical Context---

Before 1948-- Both Jews and Arabs had historical andreligious claims to the land of Palestine. Under the British Mandate(1917–1948), tensions rose as Jewish immigration increased, especially afterthe Holocaust.

1948 Creation of Israel--- The UN proposed partitioningPalestine into Jewish and Arab states. The Jewish community accepted; Arabstates and Palestinian leaders rejected it. After Israel declared independence, neighboring Arab states attacked — and hundreds of thousands of Palestiniansfled or were expelled (the Nakba).

Who’s “at fault” here?

Israelis argue: they accepted the UN plan and were attackedfor existing.

Palestinians argue: they were dispossessed from theirhomeland and never consented to partition.

After 1967, Israel captured the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem in the 1967 Six-Day War.

These territories are still considered occupied under international law.

Israeli settlements have expanded in the West Bank, which most of the world sees as illegal.

Critics of Israel say: continuing occupation, settlement expansion, and blockades violate human rights and international law.

Supporters of Israel say: these measures are necessary for security, given repeated attacks and rejections of peace offers.

Critics of Hamas say: targeting civilians and rejecting peace talks damages the Palestinian cause.

Critics of Israel say: the Gaza blockade and military actions cause disproportionate civilian suffering and collective punishment.

Current Reality

Israeli civilians live under threat from rockets and terror attacks.

Palestinian civilians live under siege, and severe restrictions on movement, economy, and dignity.

Both populations suffer — but leaders and extremists on both sides perpetuate the cycle of violence for political gain.

War and violence are always a curse on human lives, always bring misery to humanity.

We all welcome it but pretty sure we are skeptical as well

It doesn't take much for them to start killing each other again. I truly hope both sides stop, take some breather and work on healing physically and mentally

3 x thanks to you, dear smiley27

one for making this thread

one for digging into the history

one for tagging me

There is so much 'dirt' involved in the violence carried out and supported - from (not only) both sides but also from those who could have done something (much much earlier) to stop the killings and attempted genocide that I prefer to wait and watch before being as happy as the woman in the black T on the photos.

There are people who like to think that Israel has magnanimously agreed to the ceasefire, but I believe those who are well-informed understand the true cost of this action.

Atp, its a close tie between Hitler & Netanyahu. I just hope Israel sticks to its word and does not try to infiltrate Palestine under some pretentious pretext.

Trump Mideast Wars Gaza

Latest news--

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Hamas handed over the second group of living Israeli hostages to the Red Cross. The 13 hostages are now on their way to Israel Security Agency forces in the Gaza Strip. Earlier, the Palestinian militant group had freed seven people as its first batch of hostages. A release of aid to famine-stricken Gaza territory is also expected out of this deal. The two years of war appear to have come to an end after US President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan’s first phase was agreed upon by Israel and Hamas last week during indirect talks in Egypt, alongside mediators including Qatar, Turkey.

Egyptian president says Trump's Mideast proposal is 'last chance' for peace in the region

The Egyptian president told a summit of world leaders Monday that US President Donald Trump’sMideast proposal represents the “last chance” for peace in the region and reiterated his call for a two-state solution, saying Palestinians have the right to an independent state.

The summit in Egypt's Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh was aimed at supporting the ceasefire reached in Gaza, ending the Israel-Hamas war and developing a long-term vision for governing and rebuilding the devastated Palestinian territory.

The gathering appeared designed to rally international support behind the Trump vision for putting an end to the war. Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, the co-chair of the summit, told Trump “only you” can bring peace to the region.

After hostages and prisoners are freed, complex issues remain for Israel-Hamas ceasefire

Israel and Hamas moved ahead on a key first step of the tenuous Gaza ceasefire agreement on Monday by freeing hostages and prisoners, raising hopes that the US-brokered deal might lead to a permanent end to the two-year war that ravaged the Palestinian territory.

But thornier issues such as whether Hamas will disarm and who will govern Gaza and the question of Palestinian statehood remain unresolved, highlighting the fragility of an agreement that for now only pauses the deadliest conflict in the history of Israel and the Palestinians.

For Israelis, the release of the 20 remaining living hostages brought elation and a sense of closure to a war many felt they were forced into by Hamas, although many pledged to fight on for the return of deceased hostages still in Gaza. But with the living hostages freed, the urgency with which many were driven to call for an end to the war will likely diminish, easing pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to advance the next phases of the agreement.
