Yes pls Shreya. Jo bhi rules implement karna hai karlo, normal RC ke liye teams badal lo but let us as a team enjoy the game we wanted to play. At least once. We as a team strategised together for hours and every single person stepped up to contribute. There were a lot of last minute rules implemented to halt our progress and allow the other teams a chance to catch up. We accepted all those rules without protest, even though it felt unfair, almost like we were being punished for playing the game right.

We understand that there might be things you guys wanna switch up, first time game mein kuch kuch upar neeche ho jaata hai. But we should be allowed to team up at least once and play properly like we wanted to from the beginning, with all of us bouncing off the energies of each other. We don't even need a headstart, we never needed it in the first place. But this team energy was priceless and it sucks that we weren't even allowed to enjoy it properly.

Sorry to jump in between. But with regards to fast readers, not all of us are fast readers(yes 1-2 hai) we just put extra efforts for the game to complete task. I'm someone who reads slowly and Hinna her pace is also slow but as it was team game we put efforts. Almost everyone in our team completed task not just fast readers.

Hi Hiral! I am not begruding your efforts or your team's strategy. Sorry if it came across that way. I specifically said there are too many fast readers. WD, Bee, Stuti, Mrina. Imo Hinna is not slow but yeah meine sirf apni opinion batayi, just like everyone.

Every month for the BTRC, teams get shuffled. We cannot demand or ask to be in the same team, right ? Even though it's my friends in the team. For eg, I have Sakshi in my team rn, I cannot demand to be in the same team as her next time. Last time, I had Stuti & Mrina in my team.

If they decide to have the same teams, it's not like I or anyone in my team are going to kick up a protest or fight the organizers. My opinion is not the final word. At the end of the day it's in the hand of the organisers.

• Teams will change next month. I know some people have asked for same team, but each month teams have changed and that is Riya's thing so I refuse to interfere in that.

Madz if you have the ability to edit titles or if you can send a PM to all participants so that they are aware of these changes?

I've only tagged Riya in this one post so that she's aware what's going to happen if she comes back earlier.

The last 2 points seem pretty targeted... so I've something to say on it.

Make it more enjoyable - Who decided the participants weren't enjoying? Since this sentence mentions racing... which is an indirect reference to our team...please go ahead and ask every member whether they enjoyed the planning, the thrill of trying to be first, trying to read quick, etc. or not. Some of the slow readers found the team energy contagious and wound up reading a lot quicker... kisi ko push nahi kiya gaya.. they stepped up on their own. No one was assigned tasks... everyone chose their own.. and we made strategies around it... not by bulldozing through the slow readers are forcing them to read something they wouldn't enjoy or pushing them to do more. Yes we chose shorter reads... but it was still done while keeping every member's taste in mind. Every rec was made after asking for preferred genres... in fact we took ages to finalize some of the books bcz we were trying optimize between something short enough to get the task finished quicker but also keep to what the reader liked to read. Fav authors.. or on the contrary disliked authors.. sab discuss hua hai... so why assume we read things for merely the race without enjoying them? Dono kyu nahi ho sakta? The whole point of this challenge was to increase group activity and motivate reading... I think both points got ticked fair and square.

It was for this exact reason I insisted that the bingo shouldn't be compulsory (which it was when the idea was originally pitched). Jisko apni pace pe shanti se enjoy karna hai.. unke liye regular RC hai. Jisko fast paced racing chahiye.. unke liye Bingo hai. Don't get the wires crossed.

And then you were taken by shock ki itna sara ho gaya 12 hr mein.. oh no no.. this is wrong. We suggested a rematch immediately back then, to prove that the 12 hr wasn't the only factor. And that brings me to the third point

Teams won't change - We asked for a rematch. Rematches are done with the same teams. We understand having to accommodate for members who won't participate next month / new sign ups... lekin continuing members can still be in the same team. We want to prove for once and for all.. that headstart, daytime / nightime, fast members eating up slow members' tasks, all members being quick at communication, etc etc.. jo bhi 83651 bahane hai wo nai.. hamara planning, teamwork, enthusiasm.. and most importantly hard work kaam aaya tha. We are not asking to have same teams every month... that wouldn't even be fun.. the changes are good and let us interact with everyone. But for Bingo.. same team should remain for just one more time... taaki ye sare shak hamesha ki liye dur ho jaye. I didn't want to say it yesterday bcz I could see Lizzie was not in the right frame of mind... but that was no excuse for the sudden new rules that made some members of our team go into panic attacks for real. Subah se jaldi uthe the hum... raat ko 3-4 baje tak bethe rahe.. sabse jyada loss hamara ho raha hai with scrapping of this challenge.. fir bhi rematch ke liye we are ready. Despite all the atyachar that has already happened... jo ek simple request rakha humne utna accept nahi kar pa rahe aap log... and with no logical explanation other than yahi chalta aa raha hai sadiyon se aur yahi chalega... bas! Not even willing to consider the fact that these are not normal circumstances here.. and special circumstances mein jab kal itne naye special rules ban sakte the baaki teams ke liye.. to ab jab hamari bari aai tab kyu koi consideration nahi? Nahi karna to mat karo but give a better explanation for it and not just yahi hota aaya hai kinda lame / low effort ans to flick away a genuine request. Team humne nahi banayi hai... it was chosen for us too.. just like it was for the rest of you. Agar iss mahine hi bingo chalta.. as planned.. to face karna hi padta hai na... no matter what. To bas same chiz next month pe chale jaaye... both the bingo challenge.. and the teams alongside.. isme prob kya hai?

And I would like to reiterate Hiral's point here... we are not all monster readers.. and previous book logs are proof of that. In fact, we were all taken by surprise at how enthusiastic everyone was. And that team energy pushed us to read more and faster. Hinna is a slow reader and yesterday was the first time she finished a book in a day (admittedly it was a short read but still a great achievement and we were so proud of her). Her first ever achievement just got scrapped... bolo ye fair hai?

Har baar hum kuch achieve karte.. we were slapped with more road blocks... dampening this joy. That's the reason we want the same team again. We want to get to enjoy it all just once without all these constant rule changes and stuff happening. Hum ye nahi keh rahe ki har mahine same team ho... but the Bingo challenge is repeating.. so the teams should as well. We have spent so much time and energy getting to know each other's tastes, TBRs, fav authors, etc... have learnt how to work like a well oiled team.. aur ab jab actually work karne ki baari aai to mauka chhin liya. That is not fair to us either.

And same teams rahenge to you all have the same chance to know each other and learn these small things... which will help you as well next month. Win-win situation lag raha hai mujhe to... aap logo ko aapati kyu hai isme?

Parm it's just too much work to have 2 separate types of teams and Riya's whole BTRC was new teams each time with new names. I don't want to take away from that. Your team is great and did well, but it has to be easy for Shibz and Vera to manage, plus we should stay true to what the challenge's original purpose was and new teams each time does contribute to that.

Make it more enjoyable - I meant more in terms of the tasks. When our team was discussing the tasks, some just seemed like a chore and a few felt like they were repeating. For example, I love thrillers and mysteries, but there weren't a lot of tasks I could fit my choice into. And instead of reading new books, I ended up re-reading previous books. That wasn't fun for me.

Headstarts - Well I don't know about you, but when Riya and I chatted separately she clearly said that she didn't think it through and neither did she give people enough time to chat about it. That's all I meant by chaos. She and I chatted and she said that she wouldn't do it next time because at the end of the day it didn't contribute anything.

Teams won't change - You asked for a rematch, but the general consensus was to scrap the entire bingo and redo it. If I'm making a new bingo card, changing up points systems and rules, then why shouldn't teams change? Isn't that the point of "redoing it with changes"?

After reading all the discussions and views here, I drafted these rules this way for this month.

Every Bingo participant have to take up 2 tasks, i.e, complete at least 2 tasks, minimum pages will be 400 pages--- meaning, choose from any two of the 25 defined categories, and you’ll earn this special badge as a mark of your achievement!(courtesy of Shibani)

To receive the Bingo Badge, the participant must complete at least two tasks and have a minimum of 400-page numbers overall (from the two tasks combined).

Please also mention how the book relates to the task taken. For e.g.: If the task is ‘Read a mystery book’, please post a short blurb of the book that highlights the genre, so that it’s easy for me to verify if the task has been completed accurately.

I’ve made this an individual task instead of a team task, since we already have a team-based challenge under the monthly BTRC. Initially, Shreya also supported to make it an individual one. That’s why I preferred to keep this Bingo as an individual participation for now.

Kindly add Bingo completed rows, lines, or genres by members who already started working on it to BTRC page logs. These will help you move up the ranks and earn higher badges!
