Firstly as the creators and owners of threads, it would be ideal if we were given more control over them. For eg, thread creators should be able to unlock their own threads whenever needed and also have the option to delete them completely if they wish. And please don’t reply with the usual “every post matters to us” line … creators should have the authority to delete their own threads .. at least the useless ones. I don’t think anyone really cares about a random 2-line post. And anyway if there’s ever a problem, we can always move it back from the bin

Secondly is it possible to add a “Delete PM” option that removes the message not only from the sender’s inbox, but also from the receiver’s? This isn’t a high demand, it’s pretty basic. It would be really helpful especially for those messages we regret sending later.

Thirdly please bring back the old profile layout where a CC and FFE editor etc was shown with a yellow band. I think it’s only fair to get recognized. Every thread we make takes time and effort. Can’t even use ChatGPT because members notice and may point it out … so the least we can expect is some recognition

Please do think about these features

Also I don’t know where to raise this, so I’m just putting it here itself… can the contest organizers maybe discuss the contest format before posting it officially? Either with members or among their co workers? Because we had this micro-fiction contest where there were more than 120 entries. (Ussi din se bolna tha but I got busy so here it is)

It was tough both for the voters and the participants. Members had to do the voting and honestly I’m pretty sure no one could’ve read everything till the very end 🙏 (if someone actually did, then you have my huge respect). Even mods are human and mismanagement can happen, I totally understand that… but we should try to do something to improve this. Kyuki its just time and talent waste. Discussing before posting is a good idea I believe. Might as well save us from logicless contests.

I really hope this message doesn’t get ignored. It took me a good 20 minutes to type all this out..

You know what? I said the exact same thing before the voting even started. Instead of a real response, I got a long spiel about how “every creation matters” and “it’s not about winning”—like I was being petty for even bringing it up or my whole concern was whether my entries won or not.

But now that you’ve pointed it out, suddenly the voting process was “a bit unsatisfactory”? Amazing. Makes me seriously question why I even bothered in the first place.

@b: not in the team, but would like to see this back. Also unless you are an old member, you'll never know who's the CC team/ FFE team members. Everyone deserves some acknowledgement for the hardwork they do.

I only visit for my CC work

I get the team is doing enough hardwork already .. but are we contributing any less?

Anyways I will continue tomorrow

Hope Vijay replies to my post by that time. Because I expect something atleast

The forum and website have become so boring and dull, there’s really not much to do here anymore.

The entire layout and system feel outdated and old-school. There is nothing interesting to do, all sections of the forum have low activity. Even the forum games, which used to be the most fun part, are not fun anymore and seem cliquey, dull. It doesn’t make you want to participate anymore so sign ups have reduced.

Some of my friends said the worst part is that if you want your warning level reduced, you have to post a few times every single day for three months straight. That feels like a very strict rule created just to boost engagement.

But there aren’t even enough active forums or interesting threads to post on. Most other platforms have automated systems that reduce warnings after a couple of months if you don’t break any more rules. Here, you still have to PM a mod like it’s the principal’s office.

The moderation also has issues and bias, which might be pushing users away instead of keeping them engaged. I think the entire website and system need a serious makeover. Also it is very slow to load. The admin hasn’t addressed many of the long standing issues with the site and seems less involved. The website has potential but, seems like they gave up already and aren't even trying.

Wow… smiley10receiving such suggestions and advice from a member who has been part of this journey for 18 years is truly invaluable and deeply respectable.smiley27

You must have witnessed countless changes in this place over the years, and your presence and the journey itself reflects the richness and evolution of this community.smiley1

I can understand your concerns and the valid points. But at the same time, this place has something unique, that is, the community bonding, the friendships built here, and the fact that it gives people a platform to share their creativity and voice without being lost in the noise like on other social media platforms.

About the warning level reduction system, yes, it feels strict, but it was actually designed to encourage consistent positive participation instead of just waiting out the time. It’s more about showing you’re engaged in a healthy way rather than only avoiding mistakes. Still, your point about automation is valid and has been suggested before, so there’s always room for improvement. smiley20

As for moderation and admin involvement, I completely understand it can sometimes feel a little slow. But do remember that all the moderators here are volunteers, balancing forum work with their personal lives. We truly put in our best efforts with genuine intentions, because we also want the forum lively, fair, and engaging for everyone.

If at any point something feels biased or unfair, the best way is to raise it politely through PMs. Many such concerns have been addressed and resolved that way in the past and even now, we try to listen and make improvements wherever it is possible.

The site may look a bit old-school, but that’s also part of its charm!! And a makeover is always possible, in fact it is a perennial process; intermittently, and most frequently admin steps in with changes when there’s enough demand. If members like you and me, i.e, us, continue contributing, suggesting improvements, and creating engaging threads, we can actually bring back the expected spark instead of waiting for it to just happen!

As you rightly mentioned, this website has huge potential, it just needs a bit of collective effort and patience.

Let’s keep suggesting and expressing our thoughts in a constructive way, that’s how positive changes happen. When ideas are shared respectfully, it's not only helps the forum grow but also keeps the spirit of the community alive.smiley27

Been saying this for a while, girl🫡 I even suggested a small change in UI to handle the issue, but ig it will be just another favour thrown in backburner (I get it that the tech team works too much, but sometimes this whole thing feels like m talking to a wall😪)🤷🏻‍♀️

The yellow band will have to check how we can accommodate or bring it in an another variation.

Which UI change you are referring to?

Most forums I’ve come across actually follow a similar structure, often with even fewer features. That said, we’re always open to improvement. If you could share a few examples of layouts or systems you find more modern or user-friendly, it would help us understand better what you’re referring to.

That I have addressed that we will look into what best we can do.

Is there any other UI Change you are talking about except the user profile hover card.

This is a glitch that has been existing since some time. If we try to create one private forum, it doesn't get created but when we check after a while, almost 2/3 are getting created & we are unable to create a forum after that.

Pls look into this issue.

I'm unable to tag Vijay.
