Anushka, I have few questions.

According to important details in the second post of the thread, there is no negative marking. But you are giving negative marks wherever there are two parts in the answer and one is incorrect.

Other queries are,

Answer 2:

Is Gandhi movie considered an English movie or Hindi? According to google, it is primarily made in English with just few Hindi dialogues.

Answer 4:

Is it 1921 or 1931?

Answer 7:

As far as I know, Kanaklata Barua did not lead an armed attack on British, she led a procession of unarmed villagers to hoist the nationalist flag at the local police station and in the process she got killed at the age of 17 in 1942.

On the other hand Bina Das who was also called Agni Kanya attacked Britishers with weapons.

Answer 8:

I checked, rechecked, listened "Mera Rang De basanti chola" song multiple times. I could not find the words you mentioned in their lyrics. What am I missing?

Answer 9:

In my google search I found Pather Dabi (written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay first published as a novel in 1926, after having been initially serialized in the journal Bangabani) with the following explanation.

The Bengali novel Pather Dabi (The Demand of the Path), written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay and first published in 1926. It was banned by the British for its portrayal of a revolutionary group fighting for Indian independence. The novel features a secret society called "Anushilan Samiti" that inspired freedom fighters.

But, Devi Chaudhurani was first published in 1884, not in 1914 as mentioned in the question.

Answer 10:

If the question asks in which year, how can a range of years (1914 to1922) be the right answer? I can't find the link, but I noticed the same picture with a different caption which read, Gandhi was released from a jail in Poone in 1924.

Cheers..

>> Just to clarify, Raji ... the negative points are not for incorrect answers. I'm deducting 1 point from those who did not attempt the second part of the question. There were a few responses where people correctly identified it as a shrine but didn’t mention whom it belonged to. In those cases, it counts as an incomplete answer, so minus one.

I won’t deduct points for incorrect attempts ... only for unanswered parts. Apologies for not mentioning this earlier ...I honestly didn’t expect people to miss such a simple question. But to keep things fair, I’ll be deducting 1 point for that.

Other queries are,

Answer 2:

Is Gandhi movie considered an English movie or Hindi? According to google, it is primarily made in English with just few Hindi dialogues.

>> The movie was released in both Hindi and English, and since it was also filmed in India, we’re going with the Hindi version.

Also, Samvidhaan is a valid answer .. points will be given. Though you know, personally double-checked the clips from films because I had a feeling this would come up while framing this question. What I found was that while Samvidhaan had a slight variation in wording, the scene in Gandhi was an exact match.

But since the majority of you answered Samvidhaan, I’ll be awarding points for that.

Answer 4:

Is it 1921 or 1931?

>> Apologies ... that was a typing mistake. The correct year is 1921. It was written correctly in my drafts, but I must have mistyped it while rewriting/reframing in the final post. Please excuse the oversight.

>> I see where you're coming from, but the answer Kanaklata Barua is correct. she was known as AgniKanya and Birbala. I just double-checked on Google, and the page you're referring to (I’m guessing) mentions two Agni Kanyas - Bina Das and Pritilata Waddedar , which ofcourse I feel, is incorrect.

Kanaklata died while fighting in the Quit India Movement, which was very much a struggle against British rule. So yes, there’s no doubt about her being a valid answer.

I guess in trying to make the quiz more challenging, I ended up picking some fairly debatable questions. The more you dig, the more varied answers you’ll come across smiley36 That said, I did cross-check everything multiple times ... apart from a few typo errors, there aren’t really any incorrect answers from my side. Still, I’ll double-check just to be sure.

Answer 8:

I checked, rechecked, listened "Mera Rang De basanti chola" song multiple times. I could not find the words you mentioned in their lyrics. What am I missing?

>> I heard this song for first time while preparing for the quiz. But I guess Gaana.com won't write wrong lyrics smiley18 Yaar isme meri galti nahi hai.

>> I apologize for this blunder. This is NOT a typo though. I remember well reading 1914 as the answer. Even AI overview is not to be trusted I guess. Points will be given accordingly. Thank You for bringing this up.

>> Because he was imprisoned twice ... once he was released due to health issues, and then he was arrested again. All this, between - 1914 to 1922

OMG, I should’ve used Chatgpt to check the commas, apostrophes, and punctuation! 🙈🙈

I hope I’ve cleared up all your doubts!

Also @Everyone, points will be awarded for the Bengali book question!

I sincerely apologize for the few mistakes and typos here and there smiley17 This was my first time creating quiz questions, and the quiz was a bit of a last-minute rush... I ended up editing most of the questions just before. I'll be more careful next time (if there is one hehe)

Thank you all for bringing up your queries and for your understanding and patience. I really appreciate it!
