Though I didn't watch the show but RK was antihero, if I'm not wrong. ML who was introduced as antihero, did things as per his character and then redeem with time, had character development. But ML who was introduced as a victim, but turned to a culprit, that also for the person who loved and supported him the most, when he should've evolved as a character after meeting his real mom, is quite annoying.

Problem is he went on to do the biggest kaand later on and wanted Madhu to suffer worse than death. He wanted Madhu to suffer but not get relief through death as per his own words. He was also jealous of Madhu getting any success and overshadowing him in any way. He always wanted him to be the god and the successful one while Madhu to be the follower and in his shadow. He was also an unsupportive husband when Madhu had a miscarriage. He became irredeemable after that unwedding kaand. The only positive that RishBala had great chemistry and by great I mean one of the best. That show even in its worse phases used to get 2.5+ trps. But here neither is Armaan written well for audience to be intrigued by his character nor do Abhimaan have any chemistry to look forward to.

People use to call him toxic ML that time, terminologies like red flag and green flag weren't introduced.

For me Abhimaan have chemistry but they aren't the couple to root for.
