Any outsider actresses that made big without Godfather?

Most of the outsiders that made big usually had Godfathers or they came from beauty pageant. Like Juhi, Ash and PC came from beauty pageant and that kind of helped them to get good offers at the beginning of their career. Other outsiders that made big has some back up like Madhuri had lot of backup from Shubash Ghai when she was struggling. Urmilla had Ram Gopal Verma. Anushka had YRF. DP debuted with SRK and her PR might helped her a lot to get public’s attention and get good offers to establish herself. Kat had Salman. Kangana had Aditya Pancholi’s at the beginning of her career. Krithi has Dinesh. Only outsider I know is Preity that made big without having any Godfather or without coming from any pageant although her career was short. Another actress might be Vidya Balan but she is more like an art actress than glamorous type of actress. In the future, Tripti might do well without any sugar daddy or Godfather. Any other actresses that made big without Godfather, PR or without coming from any pageant?

Only Sridevi comes to mind but then she had to slog it out from when she was literally a baby to create the kind of clout she created on her own.

Divya Bhart was a self-made actress. Jaya Prada too.

Madhuri wasn’t dependent on Subhash Ghai. I’m not even sure he had the kind of power to get her roles or help her career, certainly not in the way that some actresses today have powerhouses behind them. Madhuri rose to fame after Ek Do Teen and for all intent and purposes never looked back. Her dancing ability was the power behind her.

From today’s times Vidya Balan is the only one that comes to mind. And to a lesser extent Deepika. Yes, she had a huge launch with SRK but after OSO she basically went her own way and did her own thing and struggled too. SRK wasn’t a back up for her in anyway.

I missed this the first time but I also disagree on Kangana. Aditya Pancholi was a nobody even when he had work. I don’t believe he did anything for her career. I’m not sure how many movies Kangana did with Mahesh Bhatt but he might have helped her get name recognition more.

Tabu is connected to the industry not just through her sister but also Shabana Azimi. And her sister marrying Dara Singh’s son couldn’t have hurt either.

Anushka is a full outsider but she had YRF backing, not just launch.

Bhumi I believe has political connections and that makes a difference too.
