Spy Universe Fatigue: Time for YRF to Shelve Alpha?

The Spy Universe has faced two back-to-back disasters with Tiger 3 and War 2. This clearly shows that the audience has lost interest and rejected these films. With Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, and Bobby Deol, already looking like another potential disaster, should YRF just shelve the project instead of wasting more money?

Alpha movie might already have been shot

The movie has been shot and finished. There’s no shelving it now. Best YRF can do now is send it to OTT, but they’ll need some solid marketing gimmick to make an OTT release seem like a good idea and not a desperate move.

YRF may have been having money issues for sometime..and are probably using the "Verses" to roll out cheap products. War 2 was a con Job,nothing else.That is why trade reacted so badly.They KNOW.They love their superstars.Adi took Ayan who bankrupted Dharma and probablypaid him peanuts- he didnt care,whether Ayan was capable of delivering or not.He did the same with Maneesh Sharma and Tiger 3. HR understood that he and JrNTR were being used as cashcows.

For Alpha they took an OTT director. WHY? I don't know his name.He has one film to his credit-The Railway Men. Does he understand the YRF spy universe so far..let alone make a stylish action film,that too with 2 petite female stars with soft faces? The films looks so low budget. Just Bobby Deol announced as additional cast. They could have brought in some more good actors like Jaideep,Vijay Verma,someone like Shefali shah..But I guess they wanted to keep the budget Very Very low.

Adi probably wants to sell Part of YRF and retire with thousndas of crores.Why else would he do this to his PH

Alpha is a first involving female spies leading it..in all of these other ones it was always male spies doing all the heavy lifting..so i may be interested in this and i like shavari..she will be a killer spy

I hope Alpha works for Sharvari's sake. It does not matter for Alia as she is a star. Her pr can bury it like they buried dud Jigra and her dud Holly debut.

Alpha has been shot so no question of shelving it but it should postpone to next year ..and do not mention the words Yrf spy universe ..treat it as a standalone film..

Naa Alpha isn't getting shelved.It has already been shot and finished so they have to release it no matter what.But they could release it as an OTT movie or postponed the theatrical release date if they are not sure.Waise I don't think this movie will be that of a huge hit because of the War 2 debacle also female centric movies don't earn much also this seems to be the director first theatrical release movie.If the budget is less maybe this movie will get a hit tag or earned a decent amount
