I’m posting this after coming across a Reddit thread about RoPu’s latest Instagram post. I watched the interview where Rahul called Armaan a red flag and Anshuman a green flag. Naturally, after Armaan/Abhimaan fans started their uproar, RoPu snidely replied that he’s a “pink flag,” and Sam chimed in saying she likes pink on him.
Now, on its own, this could have been a completely harmless post and comment—if I hadn’t seen them repeatedly calling out or subtly mocking people for simply calling a spade a spade when it comes to their characters on the show.
Honestly, these two are becoming quite embarrassing. RoPu, along with the character he plays on-screen (Armaan), has really faced a downfall lately. I’m an antisocial introvert, so I initially thought I could relate to Sam. But watching her constantly defend RoPu, feeding into that narcissism, and trying to package it as “classy” only makes her come across as snobbish and a bit unkind.
In one of her interviews—right after receiving the ITA award—when the reporter asked what award she had won, she pulled a meh face and said it was “just” a Promising Actor award. According to her, she should have received the Best Actress. Kyun, bhai? There are so many far more talented actors in Indian television who have worked with stronger plots, tighter screenplays, and better-crafted roles.
Now, I’m not saying she’s a bad actor—she is promising, especially in this new generation of painfully low-effort performances—but she’s not the best, no matter what she thinks. I don’t like Rupali, I don’t follow Upma, but I can acknowledge that Rupali was phenomenal as Monisha and in other roles over the years that went unrecognized. She’s finally getting her moment now—let her have that limelight.
Sam’s attitude, however, is disappointing. She can’t compare herself to a veteran like Rupali—come on. I’m not commenting on Rupali’s personal life or her alleged behaviour on set; I’ve heard things, but that’s separate from her craft. Those are two entirely different discussions, in my opinion.
Anyway—drop your thoughts below. I’m curious to know what you think. No slandering anybody pls, only sensible comments.
