Mandodari is revered. She's one of the pativratas. She tells Ravan to knock it off when he kept pestering Sita. If you look at it from her perspective that was quite selfless of her , she'd have been better off having him off her back, so to speak but she did try to intervene.

Ravi has got a golden opportunity with this one. So glad he was chosen as he's got the good looks. And that's so sweet of him to say such kind words for Ranbir. I wonder how Ranbir gonna play a Ram in one film and an Animal in another. Those are like poles apart roles altogether.

Lakshman is like a Siamese twin to Rama…He is with Rama all the way from the womb to the eternity, not leaving his side even for a moment. Lakshmana chooses to be with Rama when he had to choose between his wife, parents and his brother. Rama could stay alive without Sita but he was going to forego his life when Lakshmana becomes lifeless momentarily and gets eventually rescued by Hanuman.Such is their love and bonding with each other.

Lakshmana also is the opposite of Rama in terms of personality. Rama rarely speaks while he cannot stop speaking. Rama rarely gets angry or gives into emotions while Lakshmana is a spit fire and wears his emotions on his sleeves. He is the dynamic one of the duo. Strictly speaking in terms of movie and the screen time, the actor playing Lakshmana should get equal screen time to the actor playing Rama which is huge…If the director did his study of the Valmiki Ramayanam properly, the actor playing Lakshmana should also be getting all the good lines more than Rama because he is the talkative one who doesn’t hold back his words. No wonder the actor is thrilled and cannot stop gushing about this once in a lifetime opportunity…..

That is the kind of confidence the directors/producers....who actually know a thing or two about movies have in Bira....smiley27.....I am sure Bira is not going to disappoint as Ram....

Also I have heard that he will be playing Lord ParshuRam also....now Sri Ram and Lord ParshuRam are 2 different personalities.......if it happens ...it will be so much fun watching Ram vs ParshuRam in the swayamvar scene.....when Sri Ram breaks Lord Shiva's dhanush Pinaak......and Lord Parshuram gets angry......while Ram is shaant .....it will be Bira vs Bira in the same scene.....let us see how that will go.....smiley27smiley42

Laxman's mother was Sumitra.

But I agree with the difference in Ram ji & Laxman-ji's personalities. Nicely put. smiley20

There was one movie Yaadein... starring Sunil Dutt...only Sunil Dutt...that wasn't fun.

All Vishnu avatars had different purpose and different characters. Nowhere it's mentioned that they looked alike. Why have one actor play it?

Saif playing younger version of Rishi Kapoor in Love aajkal made no sense either. But he was the producer and accuracy didn't matter there.

Technically all 4 of them were supposed to be from the same embryo, no? However, I meant it more in a symbolic sense in the way they were together right from the conception….
